what can i do to fix it?
also, her lips look like they are about to peel, but they never do
i feel aweful :( i hope she's not in any pain :(
TIA ladies :)

was bubs overdue at all? This happened to DS2, the peeling starting about a week after being born, and over his entire body. He was 10days overdue and the dr said that it is very common amongst overdue babies (although I don't see why it couldn't happen to those bubs born on or before their EDD as well ). Either way it wasn't anything to worry about and stopped after a couple of weeks.

totally normal hun Ds had this when he was a few weeks old...I had a thread somehwere wonder if its still around???
I just used oil on him and it went away!
Its so hard not to worry isnt it  xx

A few drops of olive oil in the bath helps, but it will go away of its own accord anyway. Moogoo is a lovely natural moisturiser too.
Congrats on your bub! Both my girls were flakey newborns ;)

completely normal hun!! it looks aweful but completely fine, so long as bubby's skin isnt red underneath

yep my dd had skin peeling off her feet/ankles too, the midwife who did a few home visits said it's perfectly normal. it stopped after a few weeks. so it looks awful but it will go away!

My DD had that from a couple of days after birth. I just moisturised her a lot until it stopped. They have to get used to so many things - like wearing clothing and being in the air. It seems very normal to me that their skin reacts to all of that.

This is something 'they' never tell you. Newborns are flakey, peeley little items. Well, I suppose their skin has been completely protected and suddenly they're exposed to the elements. It's all a part of that I'd expect.

As everyone else has said, very normal.
All my babies were post-dates but funny enough it was both girls that peeled, and boy did they peel - took a few weeks to clear up, 2 or 3 weeks I think.
You can try a bit of olive oil, also we used the Gaia moisturiser after her baths. I don't think it bothers them too much :)

My baby was 2 weeks early and her skin is still peeling and shes almost 5 weeks old, it started on her fingers but now its her toes aswell!!!

My son had this as well. I used to moisturise him after his bath. but with olive oil instead of lotion. it worked a treat and he stopped peeling almost immediately. :)
