Where to from here?

DD is almost 2, and I have not worried too much about TT as I wanted to settle in with new bub before going down that path. Had planned to try and see how we go after her birthday in a fortnight, but she might have other ideas :)

For months now I have had a potty in both our toilets and DD knows they are for wees and poos. She normally sits there and doesn't do anything.

But tonight after I got her out of the bath, dried her off and hadn't yet put nappy or pj's on, she points to the potty and says 'poos'. I told her that its ok, she can go to the toilet if she wants. And next thing (from the bathroom next to the toilet) I heard the tinkle on plastic.. She actually sat there and did a wee.. :dance: OMG.. I know it might have been a one off, but what if it wasn't? :lol:

So I was thinking of just starting out slowly, like 1st thing in the morning, bath time and before bed.. Or do I try throughout the day too? I have no idea. Any suggestions?

we've only just started TT DD1 and shes 3!!!!
just see how it goes, warmer weathers kickin in so give her some nappy free time to see wat she does and go from there. fingers crossed she's ready for u, we're saving a fortune on nappies!

Thats great! especially since she suggested it and took herself and did it. She is familiar and comfortable with the potty. I say go with the flow as the children are the ones who tell us when they are ready. I was one who was going to wait until warmer weather but DD decided ..after i had been putting her in undies after cc each day, two weeks later, 10 minutes before we had to leave for cc that she wanted to wear her dorothy undies. I was sceptical but amazed when i picked her up after work and she only had one accident. My DD took about 6 weeks to be completely toilet trained as she refuses to go in a nappy..even initially when travelling, shopping etc.. we have stopped at mc donalds and left trolleys full of shopping (temporarily).. but they will each go at their own pace, but i would keep gently encouraging it..maybe put her in undies, see how she goes.. its definetly awesome to have them toilet trained..although a little sad at the same time as they r growing up!! We got D some cool undies and just let her have a go. We started in the arvos after her sleep. Only took two days and she had the hang of it.

She is at daycare today, so will follow her lead tomorrow. I have some training pants, otherwise, she loves having her bum free to the air :rolleyes:, and I have some nappies that she can remove herself :doh:.
