Please help
Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone else had some mild pain during the first couple of weeks?
I'm only 5 weeks on Wednesday and have had very mild period like cramps for about 4 days. I've been to the doctors and where he was pushing was just under my belly button (which is where the pain was), not down where my uterus would be.
He said that it "could" be the beginning of a miscarriage (:crying:) however he didn't think that it was. I haven't had any bleeding and currently have this week off work to just relax as my job is high stress.
Am I panicking over nothing? Is there anything I should be doing? I'm just so scared that I'll lose this baby I've been longing for for so long.
I'm trying to keep positive but it's hard. I'm doing my best though :D
Thanks.

 Please don't panic, what you are feeling is so normal. I had lots of period-like cramping when I was in the early stages of each of my pregnancies. There is so much going on inside you and your uterus is stretching to make way for your bub.
I'm very sure what you are experiencing is perfectly normal (expected even ;)) and your bub is just fine .

very normal. I had some pretty uncomfy pains and i was so sure AF was coming. I had them again about 8 weeks too.. no bleeding aswell. My DD is now 1 y.o :)
Cramping is normal, as long as there is no blood.

Oh thank goodness!!
I'm still going to take it easy though. I don't plan on moving off the couch for the whole week and my good friend from Bunbury is coming up on Wednesday to spend a few days with me.
Just wondering, when is the earliest I can get a scan? Do I have to go thru my Ob?

Oh, and how long should I expect this pain to last?
I'm getting pretty sick of it rather quickly
Thanks :)

Hi Mrs K739,
COngratulations on your BFP! As the other ladies have mentioned the cramping you are experiencing is absolutely normal. I can't say how long it will last as it is different for everyone. With my first pregnancy I can remember it lasting for several weeks. I am also about 4 weeks and experiencing the cramping again.
As for the ultrasound, it is usually recommended to have the first one (dating scan) at around 7 weeks. This is when the heartbeat is detectable. You can ask your GP for a referal for the scan and then make an appt with the OB.
Wishing you a very H & H pregnancy!

the pain?? it will prob come and go the entire pregnancy, sorry. lol The lower pain seemed to ease for me about 14 weeks.
You can get a scan usually around 6 weeks, a dating scan, if you are unsure about your dates. The next one is 12 weeks, (checking abnormalities in nuchal fold). Alot of people dont have their first scans till the morphology scan, which is around 19-20 weeks.
All your scan can be organised through your GP. Your care taker will organise most things for u, u just need to tell them what u want done.

OMG i had the worst pain in the first few months. I was working and would be on my feet most the day, it was so bad i would have to sit down instantly, it would knock me off my feet!!! Worse than period pain.!! like has been said, totally normal!! hugs and GL with your Pregnancy. hugs

Congratulations on your BFP!!
It sounds normal to me :) Hope is eases up though.

I felt like my period was coming for the week that it would have been due, the usual light period pains, etc. It all sounds very normal and I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Congrats on the BFP. I wish you a H&H 9 months!!!

cramping is normal. My cramping wasnt as bad as an af cramp and most werent even painful but they were a concern. It is just ur body stretching to allow thei little one to grow....(i still get random cramps)

hey hun
just wanted to pop in to see how you are doing?
Hopefully the pain has backed off a little so you can sit back and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy :)
xx

Yes to experiencing the mild cramp pain early on. Mine eased up fairly quickly from memory.
I had my first scan at around 8 weeks - heart beat is detectable. I was sent for mine (didn't ask for it) and the dr said he wanted to check whether it was a single or twins and that it wasn't ectopic so if your care provider isn't keen to send you for an early scan, you could mention those possibilities as reasons you want one done (and also to ease your worries!).
Wishing you a H&H pg!

There's begin
Hi Mummy2chloe,
I've still got the pains, sometimes it's not too bad then other times it's noticeable. Most of the time I can't feel them.
I'm too caught up with feeling other symptoms! haha, but thanks for asking.
:D
