I have a cold & have been coughing for a good week to ten days now. This evening my scar started hurting whenever I cough, not the external one, but underneath I assume where the internal one is. Is it possible I have done some damage with all the coughing? Would I know if I've done anything serious in there? My most recent caesarean was one and a half years ago.
Noone has had this problem before?
I'm starting to think it was muscle strain from coughing so much & it just happened to be near my scar because today it's not hurting so much anymore.
Mine still gets sore now and then especially when I have a cough. Its been nearly 2 yrs since I had my last c/s..
if it gets too bad jut go and get it checked just incase you have torn something on the inside
I had that problem with my first. It took nearly 3 years to before it stopped happening, and even now nearly 8 years later I can still have pain at different times.
I agree though if its bad definitely get it checked out!

I've had two c-sections. one 5 years ago and the other 20 weeks ago.
it will always be a weakened area. there are ways to strengthen it so you're less prone to injury. or things like hernias. (not fun)
if you have done yourself an injury. You could most likely be sent for a blood test and I believe MRI of the area. From there they decide if you need surgery to repair the damage.
I have to go through this myself. The first time around I learnt to use the towel. ( get a towel and tightly roll it and then tape it to keep it tightly rolled.) Put the towel along the scar and hold it there while coughing. it decreases the strain on the area and works a treat.
I honestly don't know why I didn't think of it till later, this time round.
lol maybe it was the sleep deprivation.
Anyway I thought I'd mention the towel since it really helps (when I remember to use it)
