A mini-pill question
Hiya - not sure where to post this so feel free to move it:
TMI warning too!
I started taking the progesterone-only (or mini) pill 6 weeks ago. I've chosen noon as the time when I should take it everyday. My GP advised me there was a one hour window where I could take this everyday to maintain efficacy and if I forgot that it would take 3 days before the pill was fully effective again.
When first started taking this pill I was a bit crampy and had spotting (pale brown)for about 10 days. The cramping stopped but I've had to wear a panty liner everyday since. Last week it looked like I could soon forgo the liner but alas on sunday I forgot to take my pill til later that arvo (grrrr!). Que cramping starting again and this time a great deal of mucous (eewwwww!) comes with the spotting - still hasn't stopped and I'm going through a lot of liners in a day :(
Is this normal to have the cramps all the time even if I'm an hour or 2 late to take the pill? Is the rampant mucous something I should worry about? (Sorry for the long ramble but it's really hard to get an appt at my GP and I don't want to drag DD there in the heat for nothing!)

i had the same problem when mia was born i had a caeser. went for the 6 week check up and got the mini pill. i bled all the time i was on the mini pill. so i went to the dr and asked to be put on a stronger pill. which seemed to stop it. but 2 months down the track it started again. so i went back and they said nothing was wrong i ended up going to a difrent dr because i knew somthing wasnt right. the bleeding went on for almost a year. with pains followed by bleeding. i ended up being raced into emergency by my fionce and they operated on me the same day as to find out i was right somthing was wrong. the pains were from a bust cyst and the bleeding was from the blood flowing the opposite way in the ovaries. and because i had a caeserian i also had a few small undetectable adhesions. i ended up being put on to a verry strong pill just to stop the bleeding.
