help?
Hi - ive read these websites for the last few months but this is the first time ive posted and wondering if anyone can advise. My husband and I miscarried a few months ago and have started TTC for the first time this month using the OPK. I have a long and irregular cycle so was unsure and have been using the OPK for about a week now. Last sat i had a positive tests with two dark lines (did it twice just to check) and then it was back to light sun/mon/tues. Then on Thursday i found i had two dark lines again - possibly even darker.
I did a pregnancy test this morning (very early i know but i figured if soemthing was picking up on an OPK it would on a HPT - but very negative.)
Can anyone advise? Sometimes i think my breasts are sore but now im wondering if im going mad :)

If you had a positive OPK on Saturday (I am guessing the 14th?) then you would have ovulated in the day or two following, that to me would put you at about 5 days post ovulation which is very early to test. I have heard of people getting positive OPKs and it being a sign of pregnancy, I suggest that as hard as it is to wait until you are at least 10 days post ovulation and do another HPT, and even then you would need a sensitive one.
I hope I have made some sense, good luck, I hope you get your BFP!

I have heard it is possible to ovulate more than once in a cycle, and I guess it could be a reason why some of us get pregnant when we believed we have already O'd??? You obviously had a LH surge and the 2 faint lines for a few days is unusual as well, then another 2 dark lines??? it would be early to pick up a preganancy at this stage but having said that I was using a Maybe baby saliva tester and it kept ferning after when I thought it had picked up O... needless to say when i did the test a few days before AF was due it came up positive.. so fingers crossed, best of luck... after a MC as tragic as they are you are more likely to get a good strong positive test.

Hi – im still testing positive to these ovulation tests which is five days straight now. Just wondering if anyone can tell me how long you get positives for on OPKs? many thanks

The following website might offer some answers for you, its peeonastick (dot) com.
When you say its positive are both lines (the T an C) as dark as one another? I only ask cause OPKs are differnt to HPTs (where a line = positive).
HTH and all the best.
PS When I didn't have any HPTs I was using OPKs and unfortunately for me they weren't of any use (both lines appearing, just that the T line was lighter than the C - or vice versa I can't remember now).

Hi - yeah both linesare equally dark or mostly dark with a lighter edge or darker than the control line.
I have been using them for about 2 weeks and week before last they were light so i do have something to compare it to. But because it's my first month using them i wasnt sure if 5 days of +s was unusual
