I would hun - when aston had pneumonia last year that is how high his temps got - and higher. something is obviously going on, and it won't hurt to have her looked at - ears, throat, chest listen too. I say err on the side of caution. hope she is ok.
Yikes! That's high. I'd take her to docs, yeah
I would be taking her too...
They will check her over. She might just have a high pain threshold so that is masking any symptoms.
Yes definitely take her. If its that high its SERIOUS. Not to scare you, but when I had mastitis my GP told ME to go to the emergency room ASAP if my temp hit 40 or above as above 40 is an extremely high and dangerous temperature, and should always be seen by someone.
I've hed very, very sick kids & their temps never got to 40. I'd be taking her in. Good luck.
Personally I'd be heading straight to the Hospital. Our local Hospital said always go to emergency if a temp is over 38. Hope she is feeling better asap!
Yep, Dr or hospital. Local emergency dept is good with kids.
Yell if you need a hand
 I hope she's ok.
How are things AJP? Definitely yell out to Rivlas if you need anything, she's just around the corner from you. xo
 hope she's ok
thanks everyone!!
took her, looks like a virus at this stage! need to keep an eye on her and take her back if shes not better by sunday!
thanks rivlas
temp back down too!
poor little one. when aston is like that is he like a floppy doll. hope she gets better soon hun, and that you have an uneventful weekend. x
dd1 once had a temp of 42 and they drs and nurses at the ER didnt seem to be too worried. from memory it was a viral thing too so didnt even get any antibiotics. glad your dd doesnt have anything too serious causing the temp.
Oh you poor loves! DS has also had scarily high temps like that with viral illnesses (remember 18 months ago, when he was sick with a virus every month for 6 months, with croup every time???). It's awful, but there isn't alot you can do, other than to try and keep the temp down.
I hope S is better soon, and that you all get a rest!!!!!!!! You know how close I am, so please call out if there's anything I can do (I'm feeling better now, I promise!!!).
I found with all of mine nurofen kept their really high temps down better than panadol.
Hi hun..only just saw this thread!!:o Glad it her temp is back down now...How scary... Poor little girl.. how is she this evening...
 Hope she gets better soon xxx
