What are your 1 year olds doing?

Are they walking?
Standing unassisted?

Do they talk, words or complete sentences?
Do they know how to fo things like turn on or off a light switch or use the phone?

My son is 1 year old and he isn't quite walking yet... But he can turn off the tv, change all the channels etc turn on/off light switches ( when you ask him to) and talk in two or three word sentences. Im worried that is weird? anyone....He also uses the phone... like dials numbers you tell him lol.... or redial... if you ask him to. funny?

Not sure what you are worried about exactly? Sounds like he is doing really well!

My 14mth old cannot walk, but is starting to stand unassisted and will walk/push chairs ect around. She says a few words (eg dada, car, ta, up), single words only. Can push buttons on phone/remotes but not specific buttons - although she is not allowed to play with them so hard to tell if she could do this or not.

I have never heard a 12mth old say 3 worded sentences!! What exactly does he say? Can he push the number you ask for on a phone/remote or just random buttons (other than on/off)?

DS is 16 months old and he does not walk but will push coffee table around etc and furniture walk.

He only says mum dad thats all.

He presses buttons on remote and phone randomly then it gets taken off him.

DS doesnt really follow instructions either as he likes to push us!!!!!

Jazz is 15mo, is running and starting to try and jump, was walking from about a week before 1yo birthday, talking (mostly one word but some two and three word sentences), understands most instructions and sentences, doesn't know numbers (i can't say "press number 1" and she'll do it) but will copy if I say "press this button" and point she'll press that button, and is starting to work the remote out now (lol good or bad I'm not sure ;)), will turn on/off lights if I pick her up and take her to the light switch.

Sounds like your son is right on track. But at this age its pretty much all normal, toddlers are just so different you can't say one is behind/advanced compared to others because for one thing on toddler CAN do theres something he/she can't do. Normal normal normal and thats all ok :)


ETA: her words are - mum, thank you, hi, hello, hey, there you go, gonna get ya, up, chunky (thats our cats name), uh oh, no, yes, ummmmm (lol in context too, so cute, you say "where's you're drink?" and she'll go "ummmmm" and shrugs SO FRIGGEN CUTE!) and her new words... oh sh*t. Oh yes, my darling angel drops something or trips over and goes "ohhhhhhh *****" :redface: And oh yes, mummies are feeling fairly terrible about it :doh:
She says a few other things but I can't remember it right now :redface:

my son is 15 months, he's just started running the last week & only started walking a few weeks before that LOL
He says one word at a time, mama, dada, car, ta etc
He does understand some instructions, I ask him where his dummy is "where's your dummy? Get your dummy & come to mummy" He looks for his dummy, gets it, puts it in his mouth & comes to me. He also understands when I say sippy cup or toy car in relation to that.
He gets the remote or the phone & presses random numbers until I take it off him LOL & he likes turning lights on & off (also turning the vacuum on & off grrrrrr)

It sounds to me like your son is doing well. They all catch up to each other around 2-3 yrs old anyway so I definately wouldnt be worried about what he is or isnt doing at this point in time (unless it was something like not sitting up or rolling over etc by 12 months, that may need to be investigated?)
Just sit back & enjoy all the cute things he's learning... before you know it you'll be kissing his cheek & sending him off for his first day of school (sniff,sniff)

my one year old only says "dada"" mum"very occasionally," hey"," yeah"...:rolleyes: but he tries to meow like the cat!
he almost has the remote control for the tv worked out, he knows to point it at the tv and he knows the on/off button.
he has only just started to pull himself to standing on things like the cofee table etc, has only just started to clap his hands, and can point to his nose and anyone elses...

DD 14months does'nt have to do anything she has us all trained :o she grunts and points and her brother and sisters to it for her. She climbs but does'nt walk alone, always holding onto something and does'nt trust anyone but herself??? She only says mum and bub, but understands everything we say, hopefully it will be different next year her brother is at school and her sister is at kindy, so she wil have to talk to get things to happen.

My nearly 14 and half month old can walk and run, climbs up onto everything she can swing a leg on too, couches, bed, the dog!!
She's been walking from about 12 months properly she took steps before that but she was pretty wobbly.
SHe doesn't ahve heaps of words just mumma, da, eddie (the dog) uh oh, ta, hello, turtle (random I know but its a bath thing). Dh has gotten her into the wiggles so she can do the actions to rock a bye your bear, she likes the turning around part the best :)
