Scrapbook Journalling
I desperately need to finish off DD1's first year in the scrapbook and I came up with the idea that I would love to do a little journal of what happened in that month (I am doing a double page layout for each month of her first year). Now with the little journal entries, I want it to be tucked up inside a little envelope like a little treasure for her to find and read when she is older but I don't exactly know how I'm going to do this and would love suggestions. I want to handwrite the entries as I think it personalises it more and written with love if you know what I mean.
What kind of paper would you use to write on? How would you 'hide' it in the layout? Or what do you think looks great for journal entries?
I have done a little bit of searching on the web but I can't seem to find pictures of layouts where this has been done. I am such a visual person.

I am fairly new to scrapping but that sounds like a great idea!!
Definitely use acid free paper - you could make the envelopes out of patterned paper to match the rest of the layout. Not sure about the paper you would write on as you wouldn't want it to be too thick. You could 'hide' the envelopes in the layout if they were made of the same paper as your other paper details but you could also hide them behind a photo or large embellishment (like a flower for example). On other layouts they could be an embellishment - i.e. not hidden and you could address them to your DD like proper mail with a little made up stamp etc.
I think journal entries that are handwritten are fantastic in themselves - it really personalises the page. I also like the look of using white or light coloured gel pen on a darker background every now and then to mix it up from straight black ink on a lighter background.
Have you asked for ideas and product suggestions at your local scrap store? That's where I'd start. Also there are lots of internet forums where you could possibly ask about this and pick up some good ideas.
GL. Your idea sounds great. Have fun completing your pages.

Use acid and lignin free paper and non fading pens. The gel pens you get at Kmart and places like that tend to fade. If you've got the money invest in some Creative Memories pens, they are excellent.
I'd probably do a 2 page spread full of photos of one particular theme ie: eating, walking, birthday, grandparents or a day out etc. Place the envelope somewhere on the page as you would a journal box. That way you could write about the specific event or theme including the childs milestones, reaction to the event/theme etc the photos relate to.
I hope that makes sense, I tend to ramble when I'm getting sleepy
