recurrent implantation failure

Hi,

I am hoping someone can offer some thoughts on my situation. DH and I have 'unexplained infertility' and 'recurrent implantation failure' - whatever that means. We have had ALL the tests, including for 'thick blood', immune disorders (ANA) etc, 'Killer cells', the chromosonal tests and about a million others. (Have given so much blood I am surprised there is any left lol!). All results are apparently normal. I am thin and healthy, don't smoke and rarely drink alochol these days (sadly, because a drink would be lovely right about now!).

I do suffer from allergies but have done two transfers with prednisolone (b/c I was taking it anyway) but still BFN.

My FS says just do more cycles as its a matter of numbers, but I'm not convinced. It's so expensive and the constant BFNs are heartbreaking. Is 'more of the same' all we can be doing?

Me: 35 & DH 35
TTC: 2.5 yrs
Feb 09 - antagonist cycle, 8 eggs, 8 fertilised, 8 blastocysts, 1 ET (BFN), 3 FET (all BFN)
Nov 09 - antag cycle, 9 eggs, 7 fertilized, 1 ET on 19/11 (BT on 4 Dec) :pray::pray:

Buffy, it took us 5 transfers to get a BFP, which ended as anearly miscarriage. Our 6th transfer has been successful thus far. Like you, we had good fert. results, top embies, but no bites.

There is another lady on here called Sushee who had about 8 transfers before one took and now he is 3 I think. And she had 3 kids naturally beforehand! There's plenty of other cases like hers. Hang in there. We never thought we'd get the two lines either, we really didn't.

Hi Buffy, I too have had repeated transfer failures, I have just undergone my 6th transfer and it too has failed I don't know what to do I am beside myself with frustration and grief. Technically there is nothing wrong with the embryos they are all grade 1 so why wont the bloody things implant.:crying:

I suggest speaking to a naturopath about getting some Vitex, that's what I did, and it worked. Best of luck on your journey!

Hi Buffy, I'm in a similar position to you. All our results come back "normal" and yet after 2 1/2 years of trying, 3 iui's and our first failed IVF (today) we are still not pregnant. I was diagnosed with endometriosis during laparoscopy in Feb this year and our FS thinks this may contribute to our difficulties but can't say for sure how. We're still waiting on our chromosomal test results, but our FS believes they will be normal. I'm at my wits end and have no idea if I will ever be pregnant (but I do hope so much!) I've tried acupuncture, vitamin B6, fish oil... I don't know what to do next but to enter the next round of IVF with as much optimism as possible. I did read an interesting thread on BB earlier today about drinking brandy after ET... interesting... Wishing you all the best.

I know exactly how oyu feel...it is sooooooooooo frustrating. My DH and I have been doing IVF/ICSI for 2 years (reason DH low sperm, but healthy sperm) I have just had my 10th Transfer and had to do 7 drug cycles so when I say I know how you feel I do. I want to rip my hair out sometimes. Like you, I had had every test too, that dracula blood test (how much blood do they need?) anyway and also had a laperoscopy to wake up and find that I am perfectly normal and healthy. Like you I eat well, excercise and am a normal weight. I have also been doing accupuncture and chinese herbs for over a year too. I think it is a numbers game - the other thing is I feel I wasted far too much time transferring day 3's, the last two transfers I have done blasts only, from what I have read blast is the way to go.
Question - do you know how thick your uterus lining is at transfer ? They check it when they scan us for follicles (for egg collection) and then again when they transfer to place embie in the middle of the uterus and good thickness. From what I have read it needs to be at least 4mm to 12mm. I wish you sooooo much luck we all deserve to have a baby... at least you still have sometime to try, I feel under pressure as I just turned 41, it's really scary at my age. Please check the lining next cycle ask questions about it.

I have heard stories where it takes couples a good 3 years to get there... perhaps your turn is soon, I really wish it for you, hang in there.:goodluck:
