How to get rid of fleas in the home with a 1yr old around

Hi all

we have just started letting our cat go outside and we frontline protect him but I have noticed a few fleas inside the house! Trying not to freak out but I really want to get rid of them all. We have a 1yr who loves sucking furniture and toys so I don't want to use anything toxic. We also have carpet :(

I did read that if you sprinkle Borax on the carpet and bedding and leave it for a few hours and vacuum it up, that will stop it. At the same time you have to wash all the clothes and change the bedding etc.

Please please help me as I have no idea

hi mel cur, I thought frontline was supposed to kill the ones around the cat/dog as well? maybe its just in the bedding IDK??
I have n't heard of the borax thing, the only thing I know of is a flea bomb, because the eggs can be in your carpet/bedding/floor board cracks etc, it's the only way I know of to get rid of them all.
its a huge task, but can you pack up all your childs stuff and take somewhere else and stay somewhere else for a weekend while you treat the house? hehe, easier said than done , I know! jus a suggestion. maybe a vet might have more ideas, or pest control??? sorry.
