has anyone ever recoloured a black and white photo???
DH accidently deleted a colour photo from DD2 birth that we both loved, we have it in black and white and i have seen that you can recolour then, there is a program called blackmagic but im unsure just how good it would work and if anyone has used the program, id love to fix the photo for DH if possible
Can you open it in the program that you edited it in and 'restore' the original?

nope it long lost :( poor bugger was devestated, did it the night DD2 was born
So is the black and white one on the computer or a print?

And you don't have the option to restore the color on the black and white one on the pc?
(computer illiterate here) we've tried, asked missy sammi too and she suggested a few things but it was lost :dunno: that makes sense!!
im avoiding asking DH cos i want to suprise him, i might ask him in a round a boout way!

If you've made it black & white using the hue/saturation tool through an adjustment layer in photoshop it's a non destructive edit, and the original colour values are retained. Otherwise, it's a destructive edit and the original colour values are not retained. Sorry hon.
Any program that claims to 'restore' colour is not being honest. It does not restore colour, it re-colours a photo. Generally these programs allow the user to define features and areas within a photo then specify the base shade in each area; whilst you get shading you don't get the polychromatic spectrum we are used to seeing in modern colour photography. Like when you see old black and white movies re-coloured, the colours tend to look a bit garish.
