Should I stay or should I go?

I've been going to my current hairdressing salon for a few years (hmm it was before DS1 was concieved so maybe 5 years) and over the time had quite a few stylists - their staff turnover seems quite high to me, but I don't know what the industry is like. Its expensive - $50 for wash, cut & style. So I was thinking of finding somewhere else. I don't know many people in the area, we just moved so I can't ask for recommendations.

I want to go short.

Advantages of current salon: I know the guy does a good cut, its in the shopping centre with undercover parking (important now its getting hot, esp with putting DS2 into the car)

Disadvantages of current salon: He takes ages to cut my hair - DS2 might need a feed while I'm still in there & I can't predict when he'll want feeding yet (Mum will have him wandering about the shopping centre), its expensive.

What do I do?

Word of mouth is the best way to find a good hairdresser. Ask around.

I think $50 doesn't sound too bad for the wash, cut and blow dry. Most places I have been to charge $60-$70 for the same thing: and you can't always guarantee the cut is going to be any good.:wall:

I'd be inclined to say that if you are happy with the service, stay with them. You trust the stylist and they know your hair.

I've bf my kids under the cape before. People were none the wiser.;)

hmmm says the person who's only really ever been to 2 salons - stay.
For all the above reasons.
Poor Nate has been worn a few times in his sling under the cape lol and I feed him under there too.

HOWEVER
If you're after something daring why not find a new place to go with the new do.

On the downside you won't know how they cut until you go for the bog one IYKWIM.

Sounds like this guy is good...but not that good iykwim?

I have tracked down a colourist before and never cared how much it cost because she did a brilliant job no matter what I asked for.

Might be time to start asking around - even ask the checkout chick, the lady at the chemist - or stop someone in the street with a kickass hairdo and ask them where they got it....

I take hair very seriously :rofl:

(i did this when i needed a new Dentist and BB member Nai who use to live here recommended me the MOST awesome Dentist that my whole Family goes to now :dance:)
