I didn't get any on my belly, but stretch marks are a genetic thing. I didn't use any creams or anything, I just thank my mum!
I did get them on my bbs. I think they were in the first/second tri.
with my 1st pregnancy i tried everything creams oils lotions potions u name it i used it. and YEP i STILL got stretch marks and alot of them only on my belly tho. they started just after 1/2 way
this is my 2nd pregnancy i have used nothing and i havent got any new ones yet and im 35 weeks preg:dunno:
they say if your mum got them then you will most likely aswell and usually in the same areas. depends on skin type like the elasticity etc.
if you do get them they do fade over time
Ahh the dreaded stretch marks! Well I couldn't believe my luck when my belly kept growing and growing and not even a hint of a stretch mark! I thought I was so fortunate as I assumed they were pretty much a done deal during pregnancy. And then.... at around 38-39 weeks I got them and I got them bad! My poor belly just couldn't stretch without them anymore and then I went 2 weeks overdue and of course my belly got bigger and the stretch marks got worse  Everyone says they fade so I'm waiting patiently for this to happen....
By the way, I used stretch mark moisturiser every day during pregnancy too so I think if you are going to get them then you are going to get them unfortunately.
Good luck -I hope you can escape them!
First pregnancy, none at all other than on my boobs. Second pregnancy I got lots!
Just starting to get them now at 37 wks
I didn't get any. But my mum is covered in them.
I have stretch marks and haven't ever been pregnant (or overweight!)
It's genetic, i just have really bad genes, and dread to the think what will happen when I do become pregnant!!!
My brother got them all up his back just from growth spurts, just like he had been whiped or something!
You can rub Vit E cream into them which will make them fade (as they are basically scar tissue) but I dont think anything will ever get rid of them completely.
my tummy looks like a road map!!! i used to worry about them but then you realise they will always be there even if they do fade...to me they are like my tattoos all thought not so pretty they are a permenent reminder that once apon a time something very special and magical when on inside my tummy.
Around 15% of people don't get them. It's genetic. For the other 85% of us they're pretty much a given. BUT not everyone gets them on their belly during pregnancy - i have a few friends who avoided them on the belly, but got them on their hips/bum/boobs. Unfortunately creams cannot prevent them, but bio-oil can help to fade them.
I have two forming an almost completely straight line underneath my pubic hair - i didn't have them before labour, i'm positive DD caused them as she was born, which i have to admit, i think is pretty awesome :)
i used palmers stretch mark cream for half my pregnancy and then sitched to bio oil for the last half, i didnt get a one.... until about a week after she was born i got some, no where near as bad as some ppls, just a couple under my belly button and about 3 small lines on both hips, my bbs however are COVERED in them (i used cream on them too) but i had practically no boobs before got pregnant and now they are massive.
It sucks i know but its all apart pf having babies.
I havent got any on my belly yet but i feel they are coming lol
My tummy was pretty small during DD's pregnancy so I didn't get any there but I was expecting them, and am sure I will get them if my skin actually has to stretch there in this pregnancy - as during puberty I got them Baaad on my breasts and upper arms. They have faded to white silvery/grey lines but they are still there 10 years on and destroyed the elasticity in those regions. My mum doesn't have a stretch mark on her (stretch mark genes can come from fathers side too) but she got left with an 'apron' after getting so huge with a giant baby and too much fluid - I'd rather have a few stretch mark scars than that - I am afraid of getting that.
I got them when I preg with DS1 all over my tummy, but no extra ones with DS2 and 3 and haven't got anymore with this pregnancy so far. *touch wood*. I hate them, but DH calls them his love marks
After having 3 babies I am fortunate not to have any on my belly. I have some small ones on my boobs (because I went from being a size A to a size C+) but they have gone white and you can hardly see them. I agree that it's genetic... don't waste money on creams... they don't get in deep enough and even if they did i doubt if it would help. I'm pretty sure all stretch marks turn white... (?)
I got HEAPS on my tummy in the last 2 weeks with DS (9days O/D), so far no more this time round. My Mum doesn't have any but Dad has them on his back from weight gain. Guess I take after my Dad in that department :D
But it's not all bad they do fade and before I got pregnant with this one mine were light enough that I was comfortable wearing a bikini. No one really looks that close and if they do oh well I have a beautiful little boy.
I got stretch marks in the last 2 weeks with DD. I used all the coco butter and all of that right through and still got them. Was such a shame I thought I was doing so well then that last little bit tipped my over!
