2.5 week old sleeping LOTS today.....

My new baby girl has slept ALL day today....it's worrying me!!!

She had quite a restless afternoon yesterday - didnt have a good sleep from about 3pm through until nearly 11pm as I think she had a fair amount of wind that was annoying her plus my DS was making a huge amount of noise until he went to bed and at that point I think she was overtired and couldnt settle properly.....

Anyway, today she had a feed at around 7:30am and fell asleep, then another at around 11am and fell asleep then again at about 3:40 and again went to sleep and is still sleeping now and it's 6:30pm!!!

When she has been awake for the 15 mins or so that she is she is alert and not floppy or anything so do you think maybe she is just catching up from yesterday's restlessness?

I somehow think I'll be in for a hell of a night tonight??? :wall:

Maybe just having a growth spurt hun? Or like you say, overtired from yesterday.

Sometimes babies just have sleepy days. Trust your instincts. If you think somethings wrong go to the docs or you could try calling 13 health, they have been very helpful for me. If nothing else it wil give you peace of mind.

Overtired is definately a possibility. You could try giving her a dream feed if she'll take it, I dont know if that will work given that she's so young, but could be worth a shot.

If she's happy and alert during her awake time I'd think she's just catching up on sleep or going through a growth spurt.
