Help finding a recipe! cheese
I bet all you lovely Nigellas out there will be able to help me impress DH :) I'm just stumped because my googling skills aren't real flash, hopefully one or two of you will know what I'm on about and point me in the right direction!
For my mum's 50th we went out to dinner at a local restaurant. The owner (who is a friend of my parents') did us up 'mixed entrees' (ie she did up plates of everything and we all got to taste the whole entree menu), one of which was delicious and I'm searching desperately for a similar recipe.
It was cheese... I don't know how many kinds, but I assume at least a couple, wrapped in spring roll or filo pastry (like, in the shape of a mini spring roll) and deep-fried until the cheese inside was melty and hot and just yummmm. *Really* rich, but perfect if you're only having one or two just to taste!
DH and I were quite impressed with them (especially me, I assume they probably contained brie or camembert, which as a rule I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole) and I'm now looking to find a similar recipe. But, I have no idea what one would call these yummy little cheesy thingers - 'cheese rolls' and 'cheese pastries' just don't seem to turn up anything like what I'm looking for... can anybody help me name the damn things, and/or post a recipe if you have one? TIA!!
