Breastfeeding at 7 months - how often?

My almost 7 month old baby girl eats 3 solid meals a day and I breastfeed her 3-4 times a day and I am just wondering whether that is the right amount of breastfeeds if anyone has any advice. She goes to bed at 7pm and then usually sleeps till either 4 or 5 at which time I BF her (sometimes she wakes earlier but I don't feed her then) and then she goes back to sleep till around 7am. I then give her solids and then solids again at around 11.30 followed by BF, solids at 5.45pm then a BF at 6.30pm just before bed.

When I try not to BF her at 4 or 5 in the morning she doesn't cry but 'whinges' for ages and only feeding her resettles her. Should I continue to BF her or try and get her to go back to sleep using other ways?

Any advice would be great.

My 9 1/2 month old is having 3 solids meals a day and still up to 8-10 breastfeeds in 24 hrs!!
I am just continuing to BF on demand.

I Feed my dd whos nearly 9 months now 4-5 times during the day depending on the heat two shes still on 3 solid meals throughout the day too :)

My DD is a few days from 9 months. We are having 3 solid meals a day and around 7-8 breastfeeds.

Just keep feeding on demand, your baby knows when she needs booby :D

She's very little still and bm should still be her main food. I would definitely keep bfing her in the morning and I'd be sure to give her a bf before every solid meal at this age. Milk is her most important source of nutrients until she is one, solid foods won't give her nutritionally what she needs the way bm will.

DS#2 is 5 months old and 100% demand fed which I am enjoying immensely.
Sometimes he has a set number of solid feeds in the day and other times he is more of a snacker. Some nights he sleeps long blocks and only needs 1-2 feeds and other nights he is awake every two hours and feeds as if he is starving to death. I know all of this is normal!!

MIL spend the night with us last night and today she commented on how often DS#2 feeds and although I smiled, nodded, and tried to let it go in one ear and out the other, it still did my head in.

So I am glad to have the reminder that demand feeding is fine and that my son knows when he NEEDS booby, whether for nutritional need or emotional need.
