my almost 8 month old was born 2.48kg at 41 weeks. he has been on pureed solids since about 4 and a half months. people comment on how tiny he is. developmentally he has been crawlling and moving for almost 2 months. i am very tiny and don't feel there is a problem. he now weighs 5.7 kg. he is right on for his length/height. anyone else being told baby too tiny??? people aren't looking at the situaion totally?
If you are happy and feel comfrtable with bubs weight and growth - dont worry about what everyone else says! We often share our opinions a little too readily and dont realise the impact that some of what we say actually has - making us doubt ourselves as mothers and nurturers.
You say he is fine for his age for weight and length - maybe cos he is crawling a bit earlier he looks littler - and burning up more calories moving around so much! If you are happy with the amount he eats and drinks also - his little body knows best.
I wish I was tiny myself ;) LOL

i agree. we know they won't find anything. i say to the drs each time that i haven't put on weight for 20 years. i am the same size and still fit into my year 10 jeans! and he might just be like me...we should assist more women to believe in themselves and not rely on what these drs say if your instict is so loud. they are not living with me to really observe what is going on.. and then when we are older, we are told to lose weight!!
As long as they are happy, healthy and putting it on then there isnt a problem.
DD is always exactly on the 50th percentile thing on the weight/length/height, which my gp says is just perfect, but others seem to think that she is scrawny and to little and maybe she should be fed some more. She is bf and eats like a little piggie (300mls from about 2.5 months) and a good amount of solids started at 4.5 months because my gp recommended it. Now 19mths she still appears little to everyone and still eats like you would not believe.
Babies come in all shapes and sizes and shouldnt be compared, FF babies can tend to be bigger than BF and I think this is a reason for alot of bigger babies out there, but not always the case.
