Does Anyone Keep Tea/Coffee Making Stuff In Their Bedroom?

Sometimes I wake up v early for no apparent reason (today 5.30am) and really want a cup of tea but going to the kitchen seems too full-on and would be admitting that I'm actually going to start my day. We're also interested in buying a 3 storey house where the kitchen is downstairs which will make it even more trying to drag myself out of bed and put the kettle on.

So I'm just wondering if anyone keeps tea/coffee making stuff in their bedroom? I'm seriously tempted - like you find in B&Bs you know.

Oh yeah I love having that cuppa tea point right there in the room with ya when you're on holidays! I love waking up to the sound of DH making me a cuppa :) Lovely man that he is.

But, overkill in this house. I could literally get from the my bedroom door to the kitchen door in one step (ok yeah a big step) but uh really really not needed here. Great idea in a multi storey house tho. You would need your own weeny little milk fridge that you could keep your secret stash of choccies in too ;).

Oh I would LOVE that. Really. I would do it too, but the milk think is the issue. I suppose I could get those little individual milk cups, but that would really seem like a lot of effort given that the kitchen is only in the middle of the house, so not really that far away. It really would help me start my day though.

Although I am not sure of the safety of me making myself a coffee while half asleep. I don't have to be all-knowing to foresee some sort of accident there. :lol:

I agree that a multi-storey house would make this idea more feasible. The kettle is the first thing I put on too each morning. I know what you mean.

The bedroom would have to be pretty big to accomodate this comfortably I think... :think: ideally with a devoted alcove. A small benchtop fridge would sort the milk issue. BUT you would have to cart everything to the kitchen to clean quite often which might defeat the convenience. You'd be amazed at how dirty a spot like this can be to keep clean especially if it's used while you are in a rush... little brown drips and spilt sugar everywhere. When I did temp reception work most of the meeting rooms had similar little tea and coffe making alcoves and the staff were hopeless at keeping the area clean... they could never work out how to put the dirty teaspoons in the one area either. :doh: But I guess if it was your own area.... and as long as you didn't mind the extra work to keep it clean...re-stocking. Your carpet would also potentialy be at risk...and there would be child safety issues.

But I still like the idea in theory LOL ;) Of course when i own my castle on the French/Swiss border this will be available in all the bed chambers LOL :D And you can come to visit and spend all day in there making tea and reading books by the fireplace that's also in each bedroom.... bliss hey?

My house incorporates 3 guest rooms. I did offer to put tea/coffee making equipment for the Company directors but they said that they preferred to have me make it for them ...:rolleyes:

I actually live in a house with a great big old stone fireplace in my bedroom ... they arent what they are cut out to be. In fact ours is blocked off with a big piece of cardboard and I think that something is stuck up there and died! I am currently arguing with DH over who should have to check it out! You can only smell it if you stick your head up there but even so ... YUCK!!!! :o
