Belly feeling numb?

Hi all,
I am currently around 34 weeks pregnant with my 2nd - last time I had a c/section. Just in the last day or so my belly has started feeling numb around the middle/belly button area. Is this normal or something I should be concerned about? I don't have an appointment with my Ob for another week or so...

I'm not sure if it's anything to worry about, probably best to give your OB a call and ask... At least that way you will be able to put your mind at ease.

The numbness is not unusual. You may even have some pins and needles in the same area. It is caused your skin stretching.

Thanks for the replies, a friend of mine had a baby the other day so while I was visiting her in the hospital I asked one of the midwives about it - she said the same as Alan. I'm finding it really uncomfortable - especially when I get an itch!!

A good moisturiser cream may help with the itch

I used to get that all the time in late pregnancy. My OB never told me what it was because of, so thanks Alan.

I've been getting that today, my tummy is numb and a bit itchy at times.
So glad that I read this post the other day and could come back and see what people said.
