Believe it or not, spit on it and then rub salt on it. It's the only thing that's worked 100% for me.:o
Alternatively, use witch-hazel lotion and then try not to touch it for 5 minutes - then it will go down.

ice? calamine lotion? mozzie bites are horrible...especially when you get to the stage where it is still itchy but you have scratched it so much it hurts!

Stop Itch? If you are having a reaction you may be best of getting an antihistamine.

Try some ice in the first instance. We use a first aid cream called Paraderm plus - it has an anaethetic effect as well as an antiinflammatory action - helps with the itch nearly immediately and then will take the swelling down pretty much overnight.

Tea tree oil is what I use on the kids. My lot always get big welts from them too and this helps them.

i have an allergy to mozzie and insect bites to the point where the whole part of that body will blow up literally. I remember as a kid that i had been bitten on the foot (1 of many times) and i couldn't wear shoes for a whole week or so, my foot had swollen that much.
The best thing is to avoid getting bitten. Take one tablet of vitamin B1 each day. I do that in the spring/summer period and hardly get bitten anymore. My DS has taken after me and he too takes vitamin B supplements each year.

Tea tree oil or calendula (infused oil or lotion) both work well for me. I used to use stop-itch but the residue drove me nuts, and I found after a while I developed a resistance to it.

its stinky but I heard it works a treat.....rub a cut onion on it, its the hot sulphur compounds that do the trick.
