Bleeding after Sex
Hi All,
Just a warning - this post may be TMI! :tmi:
A couple of days ago my husband and I had sex (we hadn't had sex in a while - a month perhaps? because I've been not feeling so great and hubby has been away for a while) and it felt awesome at the time except for when he went really deep and I could feel him hit my cervix (he is a bit on the well endowed side  ). So I changed positions so that I was more comfortable and carried on.
During the night I had some bleeding and it looked like quite a bit on the sheets, but during the next day I had no bleeding as I checked every time I went to the toilet. Hubby freaked out! Now I just feel a bit achey, but I felt like that before - I think it could be that round ligament pain that I've been reading about. I've also read that the cervix and vagina have alot more blood vessels develop during pregnancy and so there could be increased risk of bleeding from sex.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there another explination? :dunno: I'm not overly worried but it would be nice to hear that I'm not the only one who has experienced that. I hope I don't have to give up sex for the next 5 months!!! (Cos I have to admit, sex is feeling pretty freaking good at the moment  )
Thanks for your advice and again sorry for the TMI :tmi:

Hey hun :)
Yep bleeding can be very normal because of the extra blood down there - but having said that, any bleeding should be checked.

As in my case, it could be due to a low lying placenta. No sex for the rest of the pg for me! Have it checked though. U would want to know if it is safe and try not to use the positions that go really deep while pg.

I had bleeding after DTD when I was pregnant with DD2. Like your husband, mine has no complaints in that area ;) so we just made sure he was a bit more gentle and avoided going too deep. We had no more issues after that. I would still let your care provider know about it though just to be on the safe side.

Hi Erica
Bleeding after sex is not unusual. Not only is there is an increase in blood vessels but a lot of them are quite delicate and easily damaged. Because your bleeding had stopped by the next day I don't think there is anything to worry about

Thanks for your advice everyone. I will let my OB know at my next visit that this happened and take it from there.
Happy New Year!
