They are leaking already!!!

My boobies are leaking colostrum already!!!
I had big wet patches on my shirt and no breast pads. So i've cut up a pantyliner to get me through the night!! lol :redface:

Yikes! It's normal though...I noticed some in my bra around 20-22 weeks, though not anywhere near enough to soak through. It's been on and off most days but still not enough to soak through.

Their obviously getting very excited about your bub!! lol!

Yeah I leaked super early too, I think it just means that they are practising lol practise makes perfect!

A close friend said her boobies were making colostrum at around 16 weeks. I wondered if mine were gearing up to it so I manually expressed, and got a couple of very tiny droplets out of one boobie. I was delighted that one was getting ready to be a producer so early! But I guess I'm also glad that they are not leaking like crazy!

Hints I received from others that might help you too:
-pigeon brand of breast pads (avail priceline and pharmacies) are great
-rewashable cloth breastpads are also great, according to another friend
-wearing one of those comfy singlets with boob support is good for holding pads in place at night.
-a friend recommended satin pjs with flock/flanellette lining for pg and breastfeeding days. So comfy, and lining prevents the sweating normally caused by satin nightwear. Good for winter due dates or cold houses.

Totally agree with lindsaymaree - very resourceful! Both your brain and your boobies are heading towards being a great mum!

I remember getting this around halfway with DS & now at almost 22 weeks, I noticed a little bit on one breast a few days ago too.

With DS I was leaking through a couple of weeks after they started dripping for a little while.

Grab yourself some breast pads ;)

I was a big leaker (or more like a tap :lol:) with DS & found the disposable ones were not great for me - they ended up getting full & bunched up wet inside my bra (which was lovely :rolleyes:) - the washable/cloth ones are the best! :)

Have breast pads now just didn't have them already on my way out the door that day! lol

Yep! Mine started leaking heaps from about 20 weeks - I soaked through my dress in public on one side! I wear washable cloth pads every day now, so comfy! Though I leak in bed at night... On the sheets yuk!

at 17 weeks this pregnancy mine started making colustrum. I was breastfeeding my 16 month old, and she'd pull off saying "yuk" and make dramatic spitting sounds and sometimes spit some on me - so it mustn't taste very good!! I could see that it was colustrum (thick and yellow) too. Needless to say she weaned herself very quickly!!
