Bleeding/Spotting while taking Minipill

Hi,

Just wondering if many people have bleeding while taking the minipill? Mine is more like the last stages of lochia, even though I have been on the pill for 3 weeks, and had stopped bleeding like 3 weeks before that.

I've been bleeding for 2 days now, but I dont feel at all like im getting my period (which i didn't think you got on the minipill anyway?)

Just wondering how much longer this will last for, cos i've heard that spotting is a side effect for some on the pill? (this my be a dumb qn, but is spotting just spots of blood ever do often, cos mine is more like a smear of light blood when i go to the toilet (sorry for tmi), although occasionally i have a darker red bit in there also)... what causes the bleeding???

Can changing pill brands help this?? I'm taking Microlut atm..

Nobody else has had this??? I ended up spotting for 5 days...

Just hope it doesn't happen again!

If you don't take it at the EXACT time every day it can cause this :( It basically gives you a period... Happened to me a couple of times so I stopped using it. I've also heard that sometimes this is a side effect for some who need a stronger pill.. ie it doesn't work?

It's probably that, cos i am terrible at remembering to take it... Normally i remember, but nowhere near the same time each day...

Last night i forgot completely and took it this morning instead..

I'm just asking to end up pregnant this way!

Think i should set a reminder on my phone!

Can I ask another CP question - If I only breastfeed once day can I go back to the regular pill ?

I took Microlut for a little while but it made me feel so nauseus (i dont know how to spell that but i'm sure you know what I mean) Anyway, when I was getting my GP to write up the script for it, he was telling me that I have to take it at the same time everyday (give or take 2 hours) and if I was taking it not regulatly enough, this might cause some bleeding. You do get your period on the minipill, My GP told me that all the mini pill really does is change the CM so it doesnt let sperm get through and also makes it a bad environment for the sperm to survive in. But anyway, my doc said that its not unusual to get a bit of bleeding between periods while on mini pill.

Not too sure in regards to the BF while using the pill. I always thought that using the normal pill stopped your milk, whereas the mini pill doesnt? I could have made that up though...
