Just wondering if anyone else suffers from it? I am only 7 weeks and have already started getting it. And when i take the quick-eze tablets i want to throw them up! lol Is there any other ways to minimize heartburn?
Thanks ;)

I had shocking heartburn that stopped around 11 weeks. What worked for me was not to have a drink with or soon after my meal and not to lie down afterward (which was difficult after those 10pm fridge raids!!!). Other than that I have no suggestions...hopefully you will be heartburn free in your 2nd trimester :crossfingers:
lots of milk worked for me....fruit tingles worked too for a bit.
mik MILK milk.. its still helping here i get it quite bad. :hug" its so awful especially if u wake with it.
Fruit tingles helped for me when it wasn't bad but then I had to go onto the Zantac tablets (recommended by gp and ob) over the counter from chemist. Definately try these, don't suffer like I did trying not to take anthing
Milk! How could i forget? That worked wonders for me last night. I see alot of you have done the fruit tingle thing...might give that a go next time im out and about. Oh and zantac...i will defiantely be getting some from the chemist tomorrow. Thanks for all your help ladies! :D
Milk, TUMS, milk, TUMS and milk, milk, milk!
I got heartburn around 7 weeks until the day I delievered my DD - milk and TUMS were my best friend
As insane as it sounds, I definitely second the fruit tingles :)
Why didn't anyone tell me about this Fruit Tingles thing when I was pg??! ;)
I recommend vanilla ice cream. And believe it or not, my mw told me to munch on a handful of almonds, and that really works too.
Mysti I too have had it from 7-8 weeks. My sister put me onto Natural Calcium powder which has the additional benefit of ensuring you are getting enough calcium for growing bubs and mum!
I just mix a tsp in water or juice and it calms it right down.
You can buy it from good health food shops and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans as it is plant sourced.
I have heard that heartburn in pg is caused by your higher progesterone levels which loosens the valve to your stomach.
Also smaller more regular meals (I am trying about 5-6 smaller meals a day) and don't lie down for 1-2 hours after eating can also help. Also propping yourself up on pillows at night if it is really bad.
Good luck!
