Possible silly question
Okay- so I'm slow in getting my bags organised for hossy....
I have the list in front of me, but just wondered if bubs will wear different clothes for day and night? I'm having a C section, so know I will be in hospital for 5 days, should I be packing 10 outfit changes?
The list tells me to pack 5 outfits which doesn't seem like enough?
It isn't a huge issue as DH will be coming back and forth, but I would really like to be organised!!!
Thanks in advance!!!

I remember packing a gazillion outfits and maybe using 2?
Unless bub does an explodey poo (unlikely in those first days) or spews, they're really pretty clean little things. And changing them really does annoy them, so I avoid it as much as I can.
(All the best with the birth!)

I only packed 2 outfit for bub and ended up using one! She was in those hospital gowns for the whole stay (7 days) and only changed her when we took her home.

I only took one outfit for Noah. I was in 5 days and he was in little hospital gown (very cute) for the rest of the time. They were the easiest thing to put him in and as someone else said, they really don't like getting changed so he really only got changed every second day after his bath or if he'd thrown up over everything. I dressed him in his clothes just to go home.

i took a few outfits in diff sizes because i wasn't sure which size would fit. in the end, DS stayed in the hospital gown/nightie for the first night & the second day & we changed him late on the 2nd day & then we went home on day 3. as nelle said, they don't really get very dirty at that stage & changing them does seem to stress/annoy them so it's easier just to leave them be!

When I was packing our bags for DS2 I think I put in about 5 little outfits. I knew I'd be in for at least 4 or more nights (turned out to be 6 nights as he was born a month early, and I had a caesarean too) so figured I'd start with 5 and if I ran out DH would be able to bring dirty clothes home for mum to wash and bring clean ones back. I usually only changed their clothes once a day, unless they got awfully dirty with vomit/poo as has been pointed out. My DS2 actually spent some time in SCN so they provided clothes for the first few days anyway - I actually found both times around my boys were automatically dressed by the midwives in hopsital clothes to begin with as I was a caesar patient so they did it all for me. All hospitals are different though.
Good luck!

I packed a whole heap of clothes (as my list said to pack about 8 different outfits) only to find that DS didn't fit into most of them lol AND that the hospital supplied clothing for while the babies were there anyway (little gowns, booties & singlets with cloth nappies etc). If you or your DF get the chance before you go in, ask one of the nurses/midwives in the maternity ward if the hospital supplies clothes, that way if they do, the 5 outfits on the list makes more sense.
Also, if you do dress your baby in the clothes you brought with you, make sure that you get the nurses to specify at each shift not to put those clothes in the wash with anything else, and label everything very very clearly with both yours and your bubs names or you may loose some things if bubs stays in the nursery. We had several expensive outfits go into the nursery wash baskets that went missing in the wash that still haven't been found over a year later.
I've probably made things harder, but it is always better to be as prepared as you can be as you never know what might happen on the day itself.

Make sure you pack some warmer clothes for bubs too, like Wondersuits, the hospitals get pretty cold.
