Hi Girls,

hey pebs,
clomid is used to help ovulation
you take it for 5 days at rhe beginning of your cycle....normally cd 2-6 or 3-7 etc/
most side effects are hot flushes and headaches.
a lot of women have fallen pregnant first cycle with the help of clomid.
I am on my second cycle and still praying!
good luck
Hey
Clomid makes your body ovulate by sending a message to your brain that you need to ovulate so it sends a message to your ovaries to release an egg.It doesn't work for everyone though.
Its taken in tablet form in either 25mg-150mg.The most common is a 50mg tablet which is taken for 5 consecutive days normally on days 2-6, 3-7 etc etc when you have your period. After your last tablet you normally ovulate from days 5-10 depending on your body as everyone is different. I never really had any bad side effects except hot flushes and moodyness and the odd headache. I think the average to fall pregnant on clomid is 4 cycles.
Both my bubs are clomid bubs and I never had any problems taking it.
Goodluck hun!!
Ditto to what the other girls said....i'm currently on my 4th cycle (but 2nd cycle back to back). As Kirsty said, the average is 4 cycles, and i think they mean back to back for these, just so your body can regulate using the clomid....
Good luck...i hope you get a pg first up...
PS The only side effects i got were hot flushes..(but if you ask my DH, he'll throw in some moodyness as well...LOL)
One last question, what are the chances of having twins etc from using Clomid ??
oh yes there is a huge increase in multiple babies :)
Hi
My baby is a Clomid baby, I took 50mgs from day 2 to day 6 and we concieved on the 4th cycle. With Clomid it does bring chances of multiple births but not for everyone it depends on how many eggs you produce. Your gyno or specialist will give you your percentage of chance. My specialist didnt believe I would have twins as my cycle was so irregular without Clomid.
Goodluck !

hey pebs,
my specialist informed me that clomid increases your chance of multiples to about 5% (normally 1% without clomid). So yes, it does increase your chance of twins, but not dramatically. It's the only thing that puts me off taking clomid.
Good luck to you.
i dunno about u guys but id much rather have twins or triplets than no bubba
Exactly my thinking Danni! ;)
I'm with you on that too.....My spec. said that if there were 3 or more follies then they wouldn't proceed with the cycle, but i say 'boo' to that...3 is better than none...
Hi there
thought I would jump in with my exp with clomid... just into my 6th cycle but have also just had exploritory D&C, Hysteroscopy & Laperoscopy which revealed that my Uterus is only 7/8 formed the other 1/8 has formed into a right rudimentary horn and although both ovaries are healthy and functioning the right fallopian tube does not communicate with the main uterus so I guess my chances of preg are reduced to bi monthly... the 7/8 ute will support a preg no probs ... hoping that the clomid will do the trick for us...
Can't say I have many side effects.. maybe the odd headache and occasional hot flushes...
My gyno said that the chances of twins is increased by 7% but I agree that 2 or 3 is better than no baby at all!
Good luck to you all on the baby trail... hope we all get a BFP very very soon!
Kate
I've done five cycles of clomid - 1 at 50mgs, 1 at 100mgs, and 3 at 150mgs. Only the last cycle at 150mgs did I eventually ovulate but didn't get pregnant from.
Hopefully you'll have better luck then me!
hi,
i did 3 cycles of clomid, but unfortunately miscarried a 2 months ago, i have now started my 1st cycle again, hopefully i have betta luck this time.
