Does anyone know when ovulation pain occurs?
Is it before, during or after ovulation?
Hi Kat,
Welcome to BB! In answer to your question, it can be completely different for each person. Some woman have pain in the hours before ovulating, some feel a sharp pain as the follicle erupts during ovulation, and some feel pain in the luteal phase (LP) from their ovary that ovulated. It's completely individual, and sometimes the only way a woman can work out when pain is occurring in relation to actual ovulation (O) is to chart her cycle and make a note of which days/times she is feeling pain. Have you thought about taking temps and charting your cycle?
I was able to establish when I feel ovulation pain when I went through IVF, however since having my DD, it has changed now, so I can't really tell if I'm experiencing it directly before, during or directly after any more.
HTH - sorry that I can't be more specific! :)
Hi Acacia ...
Just to make is easy, no definate answer ... :D Thank you though.
I religiously chart my cylce but not my temp. I have noticed here that lots of women take their temp so I'll have to start doing it.
I'm generally a 28 day cycle but last month was 26 days.
I had O pain last night (and feintly today) so I would assume that today at day 13 it would be before or during. But given that I was 26 days last month I was just wanting to pinpoint it more.
We've been TTC for several months now - what a learning curve. I had no idea how many planets needed to be aligned. Its a wonder it even happens at all.
Kat,
If it helps, I'm just as confused... just when I figure I have it worked out I'm proved wrong.
We've been trying for around the same time.
There are TTC threads on BB to discuss the TTC journey with wonderful ladies.
All the best
Thanks CB Gal ... I will have a read of those threads.
All the best to you as well!
