I feel sad...
My little girl isn't going to be my little girl for much longer. She took her first steps on her own two days ago!! She'll be walking soon and won't be a baby anymore, she'll be a toddler and she'll never be my little baby girl again :(
DH and I are talking more and more about baby no 2 and thinking of TTC around the middle of this year. My days with just me and my little girl are numbered :(
-
i remember feeling the same  it goes by far too quickly, and even quicker second time around!!
we held off number due because we wanted DD1 to be an only child for as long as possible!!

Hi Heaven,
I think both our DD's are born on the same day?
My DD is not as fast movin as yours - she's just started mastering the crawling! But today is the day she's really clicked doing it, so I'm feeling a bit sad myself! Plus, she had her first sleep over at Grannys the other day, which was awesome for me, but also a bit sad.
It's funny how you can be so happy for them to do and discover new things, but it kinda breaks your heart at the same time....
Hugs, and many of them!

I still feel that way. And even more so when i'm having bad day. She will always be more baby girl but i miss her baby ways and snuggle cuddles
Cherish each moment, cause like we have all experienced, they go way to quick!
-
Awww hun - there are still SO many "1sts" to look forward to
-
 Heaven, I know what you mean! DS isn't quite walking yet, but he has just turned 11 months, and it's hitting me suddenly that he's not really a baby anymore :(. I'm excited about what's to come - but also so sad that I'll never have my little newborn DS anymore...
-
I understand completely (even though I have a little baby!)
But I can tell you that it is so totally awesome (and yet completely frustrating at the same time) when they start talking to you and holding conversations and becoming this little person of their own ya know? So grieve for the "no more baby" but try to hold some excitement for what you are yet to experience - cos I can tell you - its just as good - its just different!

Thankyou guys!! Good to know that there are lots of people who have felt the same way. I am excited to watch her grow but sad I will never get this time again.
I remember before DD was born being sad that it would never be just me and DH anymore and now I'm not sad about it at all, it is so much better with DD!! I suppose it will be the same with a new baby too and I just can't imagine it now. All I can think is that it will be taking my time away from DD.
-
 Oh hun it is sad when they grow up...but yay for TTC soon :)
-
I saw a couple walking along the street the other night, with their DD in tow. She looked about 18 months old. I felt a stab in my heart. It reminded me of my life when I only had DD. I still miss those days sometimes. I wonder where the hell they went. I am probably quite reflective at the moment because she is starting school in a couple of weeks :o
So, yeah, Heaven, I get where you are coming from....
I also thought that having a 2nd baby would mean time taken away from DD. Even though my pregnancy with DS1 was planned, I wondered how I was going to love another baby as much as I loved DD.
But, there it was, the LOVE, as soon as he was born.....Overwhelming love. The heart just grows and the love keeps flowing. And Mel is right, there are so many more beautiful moments to come for you and your DD (and susequent babies)!
-
I get the same feeling but I am also excited about further things to come in DD's life. Like when she can 'I love you Mummy" or I can say to her "come here and give mummy a big cuddle" and she'll come running over (well she better!!!) :) or when she can ride a bike for the first time or start school - I cant wait for all those things. I think it is my way of coping with the fact that she is growing up.
I have a video folder on my computer of all little videos I have taken on my camera over the last 10months and I looked back at a 4 wk old one and thought I am so glad I have that snippet of her life recorded and all the photos I have taken and I know you do as well.
 She will always be your baby girl

I remember crying on christmas night 08 because Spence was due mid april and it was our last christmas with just ds1 and us. I cried that maybe he wouldn't have as much time or attention and that it wouldn't be just us anymore.
I couldn't imagine life without 2 boys now and "us" now means all 4 of us! Each day is such a blessing with our kids and now seeing how cute Noah is I look forward to Spence being a toddler and then I get sad about Noah growing up, some times I can't wait to see the men our boys will become, what they will do with their lives, I think about their wedding days lol and then wish them to never grow up the next minute
-
boomba- thankyou!
Aliash- I wonder how on earth I could possibly love another as much as DD too!! But I never knew I could love her this much either.
Ali- I have been looking at videos too! It's sad bc I can barely remember her that small anymore! I wish I could remember everything!
Jas- that's exactly how I feel!
-
I'm sad too. I know exactly how you feel!! I was trying to explain it to DH and he didn't get it at all. My baby is not a baby anymore. :( I'm starting to get clucky for the next one just to have a tiny baby again! (Although I don't know how I'm going to juggle 2 babies & still give them both my undivided attention!)
-
Oh yeah, I totally feel this! She seems so grown up at times; eating for herself, getting herself around on furniture.... but then she cries and I remember how tiny she still is :)
