I am keen to start growning a baby belly LOL and while I have some tightening down low, my 12 week US showed my uterus is still behind my pubic bone. My sonographer said it will take a bit longer for it to pop over the edge and start showing because it is retroverted. She mentioned some women don't show until 20 weeks??? I was wondering what others with a retroverted utuerus have experienced.
I also think there is a general poll about 'when you started showing' but I can't find it.
(fak) It was later for me, and i never got huge... sorry hun... but in some ways it was good as my normal clothes fit for a lot longer... You will get a bump soon... :hug:
Gee, I had the opposite! It's probably different for every woman, hun. I have a retroverted uterus but had a clear bulge at 9 weeks. By 13 weeks all and sundry could tell I was pg.
But then, I'm not a very big person, average height, small frame and slim, so maybe in my case my belly just had nowhere to hide? I was seriously hoping I wouldn't start showing until much later! I am guessing this would be such an individual thing...

I was the same as Rufalina. I was quite late showing and never really got that nice round baby bump. I was in my normal clothes my whole pregnancy. The way I carried could have something to do with my height too as I'm quite tall.
For me, it was immediate - but I had a mild case of OHSS on top of my retroverted uterus!
Once the OHSS went down, it was probably closer to 15 weeks before a pg belly even started to show, even though I'd been in pants a size larger from the moment AF was due.
I didn't get really big until closer to 30 weeks, though. Up until that point it wasn't really obvious that I was pregnant at all - but that could have been due to the way I dress and the fact that babydoll tops seemed to be in then.

I got away with hiding my 1st pregnancy until 26weeks but I was hiding it. I was definately showing but wore clothes that didn't show it. I think I could notice it myself around 18weeks a small but hard round bump.
The 2nd pregnancy it was noticeable from 13-14weeks. I had a pop belly before then but when it was noticeable to others was around that 14week stage.
I am also 6foot tall, trim with a very retroverted uterus and a long torso. So that could contribute to it as much as the backward uterus.
Bout 18-20 weeks. I have a feeling that my uterus may not be retroverted anymore tho, I can clearly feel my uterus now and have been able to for a couple of weeks (I am just over 9 weeks BTW)
Sounds like there is no 'rule' to this which isn't surprising.
Ok so I pretty tall, have always been told I have great child bearing hips (which didn't go down well the last 5 years but now seems quite handy!), fairly long torso and a roll of normal flesh on my belly.
Seems I will just have to wait see what happens from here LOL.
I can't wait for a belly :dance:. I will be wearing fitted clothing to show it off I reckon.
I have actually lost 2.5 kg in the first trimester. So here is to gaining it and a bit more back!

With the OHSS i was pretty massive even before the trasnfer :o. It subsided, but then my tummy started going out again from around 12 weeks. I could feel my uterus from 11-ish weeks, so I guess it popped out about then.
I'm very short waisted, which probably had more to do with it.
I think it depends more on the length of your torso - how much you expand outwards depends on how much your insides can move upwards.
Anecdotally, one of my mum's group mums is skinny as a rail, she's currently twenty-ish weeks with her second, and has just barely started to show. She has a very long torso.
I am about seven weeks behind her, have a similar build and height but a shorter torso, and have been showing since about seven weeks.
Although I don't know if her uterus is retrograde - mine is though.
I hope you get your belly soon gorgeous - but just remember, before it gets too big, say hi to your knees and toes. It gets to a point where you forget what they look like. :rofl:
