Tips for emptying/re-filling bean bags?

DD's desperately needs a wash, but the thought of beans everywhere puts me off.

Is there a better way than just emptying into the bath? Any tricks that work well to refill?

reverse cycle vacuum cleaner if you have one!
Or if you don't have one you could always just vac them up anyway then empty your vac bag back into the beanbag ;)

I bought some cheap calico and made inserts for mine so the beans went inside the inserts and i could wash the covers whenever i wanted without having to worry about the hassle of taking the beans out.

re-fill is definetly a 2 person job! I discovered this the other week. I'm still picking out strays from between the floorboards

No magic vacuum here unfortunately :D

I actually did make an insert for this very reason, but when I opened it the other day, I found it had not survived DD's belly flops :doh:

Maybe some sort of scoop and funnel contraption will have to be devised...

Is it the cover you want to wash?

I have calico liners for the bean bags as well, and i wash them with the beans still inside. I just chuck them in the shower, squirt a bit of washing powder or disenfectant and 'scrumple' them then rinse til the water is clear. (It's probably easier in bath but we don't have one). Then put them outside to dry.

. My bean bags are for the dogs so they get pretty stinky, but this cleans them pretty well.
