After having my last child AF has been very irregular, coming early or late and has been much heavier than before. Two days ago AF arrived, it is very heavy making me feel light headed and this morning I have passed some clots. Is this normal? Could it be just my body changing as I'm getting older? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

That sounds like what all my AFs are like. Mine would be so heavy that i couldn't do anything i felt nauseas and light headed. Have you seen your doctor about it?
I did go to my GP about 6mths ago when I was passing clots and he said it could have been a missed m/c but I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant, he will probably say the same again.

Dianne - I have not experienced anything like that myself but I do remember mum saying that her AF changed quite considerably in her 40s.
She did say that it was like she turned 40 and AF decided it was time to be a rebel teenager and got up to all sorts of mischief - not coming regularly despite mum being on the pill, staying for shorter/longer than she used to, changes in the type of flow etc.
It could be a hormonal change - it could be something else... sorry that probably wasn't a lot of help
ETA: thought I should add that mum had tests done in her 40s for menopause - the hormone levels did not show anything... even now her hormone levels don't show anything like menopause but she continues to have weird AFs. I have been worried about what she describes on more than one occasion but the GP hasn't found anything yet
Thanks TK, was thinking along those lines of hormones changing with getting older. My hair is falling out too which only ever happens when I'm pregnant or post natal, geez what else happens with old age :rofl:.

I had the same problem and it went on for AGES. One session of acupuncture with Chris from the BB Centre, and it was normal and regulated!!! Acu is great for this, you'd need to find someone who has an interest in this area tho :)
