My little man is 22 months old and we clean teeth at bathtime (night). So only once a day.
He has nearly all his teeth now (missing about 4 molars- I think!) and I let him do most of the brushing - with me finishing off if I don't think he's gotten all around.
We started after he got more than about 6 teeth... and he was eating more food that could get stuck and cause damage.
Hope that helps!
DS1 is 19 months old and now has 8 teeth.
I try and brush his teeth but cant do much of a job as he clamps down on brush, habe tryed giving him brush when I do mine, have given him brush to play with in lounge, have given it to him in bath. Everything gets chewed on bar the tooth brush LOL typical hay one thing I want in his mouth he wont!!
Hope that helps.
hello, my ds is 26 months and has most of his teeth. We brush his teeth every night in the bath or shower depending on which he is having. We keep his tooth brush where we can see it so we don't forget to do it. He is now using a little bit of toothpaste and spitting it out.. soo cute :) He brushes his teeth first and then when he is finished we will have a go at them too just to make sure that all the teeth have been brushed.
DD's teeth have been cleaned since she was a baby (when she finally got one LOL). I clean her teeth every night before bed (did it in the bath when she was little). Now she's a bit older she also brushes them in the morning before preschool, while I do her hair.
She knows that brushing her teeth keeps them clean and stops them getting holes. She gets very upset if she thinks I've forgotten before she goes to bed!
DD is two and a half and brushes her teeth morning and night. Mind you, I do them all again for her, after her turn. She doesn't want to give me the toothbrush, but she knows sharing is good, so when I tell her to share with me, she does! Takes a bit of patience because she tries to chew / clamp her mouth shut around the brush. We use the kids toothpaste, which she generally swallows, hope that's not bad for her. Hard to teach her to spit! She does rinse with water and manages to spit some of that after gulping some down.
DD1 is 16mths and has 8 teeth, she brushes hers atleast once a day, she has had a toothbrush since she got her first teeth at 10mths.
The cheeky girl wont brush them without toothpaste (even at 10mths i tried tricking her) so i put a tiny bit on (baby milk paste) and wipe it of, theres JUST a tiny taste.
I brush them after her but she still tends to clamp down on the toothbrush and wont let it move, but i prefer she atleast try herself to get the feel of it and when she's a bit older i can be more diligent.
My DS is 7 months old and has 6 teeth. We got this great little set of 3 toothbrushes (I think it is pigeon brand, we just got it from the chemist), there's a different one to suit each stage as they get more teeth. The first two have rubber type heads on them and the third is more like a normal toothbrush.
We give it to him when he is in the bath and he chews on it and plays with it. Then we'll have a go and give his teeth a good scrub.
We're still using the first of the brushes, but I've found that it is a really good way to get DS used to the concept of brushing his teeth. At the moment he actually likes it when we have our go, so hopefully we are setting him up for healthy dental habits.
my dd is nearly 13 months and has 11 teeth :o - i've been brushing her teeth twice a day since she was 5 months old (she was a "cross cutter" so got a lot of her teeth in one hit)

Ooops Double Post!
My son is 2 and a half and has all his teeth but the molars. I brush his teeth twice a day, me first, then his turn and he rinses it off under the tap at the end which he loves. (Oral B for kids is a really good toothpaste BTW, gets the teeth squeeky clean!)
My littlest man is 20 months and has all his teeth, he brushes his teeth night and in the morning, he likes to do it with his big sister and brother.
My eldest is 11 years old and still has 6 baby teeth, my other boy is 6 years and is just getting his 6 yr old molars. All went to the dentist yesterday and have nice clean teeth :)
The edntist gave the younger two a wiggles chart for them to put stickers on in the morning and night when they brush their teeth. They love it
We also, have the Pigeon set of 3 toothbrushes! They're so cute
As soon as DD started getting teeth (9.5mths) we let her play with it and put it in her mouth and chew on it and then we will have a go and brush her teeth however she doesnt like it very much! She wants to be in control and hold it.... lol.....
Usually evenings only we do the teeth time..... but I think I'm going to do mornings aswell now too. Also I have a finger mitt you can put on your fingers and rub their teeth/gums with it, thats easier I find!!
DD will be 2 on Sunday and I try to make sure her teeth are cleaned at least once a day. She loves cleaning them and will point to her toothbrush and say "clean teeth" which is good coz otherwise I'd forget. She does it herself but I have to remind her and sometimes help her do it properly otherwise she just sucks the toothpaste off the brush. I'm now trying to teach her about spitting into the sink when brushing teeth.
My ds is 28 months. He's got all his teeth but one molar. He brushes twice a day, every day. I have crappy teeth and I insist on it.
In the morning, we brush our teeth together, and at night he does his in the bath or shower. he's actually pretty good at it, but I grab the brush when he's done and give them a quick, hard scrub.
Hello,My little girl is only 13 months and only has 4 teeth but i started brushing them only a few weeks ago and now she does a rough job herself but i thought it might teach her early to brush her teeth? Not sure but I only do it properly once a night and just use water at the moment not paste aswell. :)
DS teeth get brushed once a day, he has a brush then I give them a quick scrub.
