Please tell me having only one sleep today was a one off!
DD is only just 7 months and I've been having trouble recently getting her to sleep (for most sleeps, day and night). It can take her up to an hour to eventually fall asleep. I don't let her cry herself to sleep, but at the same time I can't be in the room with her the whole time as I'm too much of a distraction for her, so if she isn't crying I leave the room and let her be. Yesterday afternoon after an hour of her mucking around in her cot (blowing raspberries and yakking away) she finally fell asleep at 4pm, I prefer her not to sleep past 4pm as it kind of stuffs up our night time routine then, but hey I wasn't going to wake her up when she'd only just gone to sleep!
This afternoon same thing, only this time she didn't fall asleep..nothing I did worked and eventually I got her out of bed, she was perfectly happy, giggling and squirming away like she'd only just woken up. Gave her a bottle hoping she might fall asleep during that but nope..I put her back to bed at 6pm and she is out like a light now, but that was 6 hours of awake time as she woke up from her morning sleep at 12 :o
I am really really not ready for her to be dropping back to one day sleep, I don't think she is old enough to only be having one sleep during the day, and I must admit I love it when she is asleep as it's my 'me' time, a bit selfish but I'll enjoy it while I can. And I don't think it is healthy for her to be going 6 hours straight without sleep!
night sleeps are pretty good, if she doesn't sleep through the night she'll wake at either 1am or 4/5am for a feed and go back to sleep, although it has started taking longer and longer to get her back to sleep at night (last night she woke at 1am and didn't go back to sleep until 2).
Sorry for the mammoth post...could this be due to teething/wonder week? She hasn't had any teeth come through yet and I can't see/feel anything either.
