TT at home but not out of the house

DD has been doing very well with her TT over the past couple of weeks only having the occasional accident but as soon as we are out of the house it is all forgotten and she only has accidents. She wears pull ups when out of the house so doesn't make a mess but she will only tell me after she has poo or weed. I did 1 day at playgroup put her in undies to see if it was the pull ups that 'made' her forget to go to the toilet but after 3 accidents I decided the undies weren't the problem. We were even at my MIL on the weekend (1 day) and she still didn't use the toilet.

Does anyone have any ideas? I have also just bought a fold up toilet seat and made a special bag to put it in to make her more comfortable but still no luck.

I just don't understand why she is so bad at it out of the house when 95% of time at home she is great.

Charlie was the same. I think he was scared of other people toilets!

I eventually just threw out all the nappies - made a big show of it so he'd see - and then told him that he wasn't going to be wearing nappies anymore.

We then spent over an hour in a public toilet the next day until he got the nerve to pee in there, and then he was fine. We had a few accidents here and there, but I decided to put up with it rather than go back to pull-ups.

We had the same hurdle with pooing in public toilets (another 40 mins spent crouched on the floor of the toilet there) and then again, once he did it, it was fine.

Mind you I never use public loos for #2s so I guess it must have been in the genes! I try not to use them for #1s either!!

If she has only been TT-ing for a few weeks I would be taking her to the toilet every hour or so if out.
I think they are more distracted when out - and so I would be inclined to take the lead to avoid accidents and therefore keep her confidence up.
Sounds like she's doing well though! :)
