Hey,
I'm after a recommendation for a paediatric osteopath or chiropractor in melbourne? My son is really unsettled (cries lots and lots and lots) and I'm going through the list of things it could be. Whilst I'm not sure that it is linked to a medical condition, at this point I'm prepared to try anything.
What is the difference between what a osteopath and a chiro will do for my baby?
Any recommendations would be great.

Hi Fiona,
There are 2 great Osteo's at Bundoora Osteopathic clinic. Nahla Karim and Carly Broadbent are their names. They both treat children.
I don't really know the difference between osteo and chiro treatment of children, but I have only ever seen osteo's and my children go there. Would highly recommend them. They don't make you keep coming back week after week or month after month. Once the problem is under control they leave it up to you!

ive taken DD to see my osteo, Clare Gordan and shes in Malvern
Just wanted to give you a :hug: and some support. About 2 months ago i went down the same path as you. Lots of screaming with DD and I just didn't know what to do. For us it involved silent reflux aswell and from reading some threads also I decided to give the osteo a go.
My MCHN kept telling me it was 'normal' all the crying but i knew it wasn't.
My choice was the osteo but for no particular reason, out of the two (chiro & osteo) it was the one i chose. We had 3 appt's i think and honestly it really doesn't look like they do much at all. It's so gentle, looked so relaxing to me but DD screamed all the way through each session. I think it involves pressure points and very gentle manipulation. The osteo actaully said at one appt that with DD's crying her lungs and chest were improving as the session went on. So maybe when they say crying is good for them it is kind of true!?!? Still it's not nice when you can't stop them.
So anyway truthfuly i really don't know if it helped but i was being proactive in trying to do whatever i could for her and that's what matters to me. The last osteo appt we had co-insided with the Zantac kicking in so i really don't know which had more of an effect.
Definately give one or the other a go to see if you get results. We are still giving DD Zantac but there is definately not as much scareming as there used to be.
After all that i am not close to you so the osteo we attended probably wouldn't be of much help.

I've taken all my babies to Chiropractic Children's Healthcare - they have clinics in Ringwood and Rosanna. I have had wonderful results with all three bubs after taking them to the paediatric chiro. I highly recommend Paul Chamberlain, he is a wonderful, caring man. The other two chiros are fantastic too though :).
i go to one in Fitzroy called Osteopathic Sense.
they are all trained to work with babies. DD2 had amazing results with them.
What area of Melbourne are you in?
I took both my boys to see a cranial osteopath when they were little and was extremely happy with the results.
