hopes of vbac fading fast!

Hi ladies,

I posted a few months ago eager for advice on attempting a vbac. Since then i have discovered that bub is sitting breech and has been from 26 weeks. I have tried everything to turn my little bub, from bum in the air to swimming, to accupuncture...but it seems quite comfortable where it is. The dr's won't manually turn bub because of my previous c/s. So...unless this little rascal turns in the next 2.5 weeks my hopes of a vbac are flushed down the tiolet! Has anybody else had this happen?

Bubs have been known to turn right before labour, keep doing what you are doing and don't write off the chance of a VBAC just yet! My 2nd twin turned hours before I went into labour from breech and I know of another lady whose VBAC was successful after her baby turned to cephalic at around 39 weeks.

I don't know your personal situation, but I read or heard somewhere that babies like to have their heads up close to their mother's hearts (breech) when the mother is facing a difficult time. It is very common with people who are trying to move house - as an example. Do you have something that is playing heavily on you at the moment? Or perhaps just the chance of having a VBAC is? If so then perhaps allowing yourself some time to meditate, or talk to a counsellor or whatever you think will help you work through it to give yourself the opportunity to let it go. And talk to your baby and tell them that is ok, you are ready to meet them and just find yourself some inner peace.

If there is nothing going on in your life, I agree with the others. Don't give up, babies are known to turn and get in to position at the onset of labour. Don't let the doctors talk you in to a C/S too early.

Thanks for your positive thoughts ladies! I am hoping it will still turn. The dr's are thinking of c/s at 39+ weeks, so i figure it still gives me 3 weeks to try to get bub to turn!

Suga- the closest person that would support a vag breech birth is 3 hours from here. Bub is in an awkward position, if i tried natural delivery it could cause her/him harm and i really don't want to do that. I'm not totally against a c/s in this situation, just dissapointed!

mummy-tummy- Yeah, i have read the same thing...i have been quite relaxed with the pregnancy, i don't think i have been worried about anything in particular. We have a family member who is gravely ill at the moment- perhaps that is playing on my mind more than i thought?
