So.. its official..
:shhh: Im a long termer who is now getting some serious drugs to help(not serious serious but you know)
i have to take a week of provera tabs then when i start bleeding doc will tell me when to take clomid. starting with 50mg
so a few Q's
will the provera send my hormones crazy? (usually the day before i get my period i am extremelly emotional)
will clomid send me crazy too?
what are the bad side effects to my body of both of these(cos the doc didnt go into them)??

Did you look in on the LTTTC taking Clomid/Metformin thread here...
I can't help with the Provera q's.
I did take Clomid for 4 consecutive cycles and they were monitored too. I was a little extra bit anxious/sad/hormonal.
As for the side effects, I'm not sure what they say in general, but I got masses of eggs the first cycle and a huge cyst. I got less eggs the second cycle, and some smaller cysts. And then less eggs on the 3rd and 4th cycles, but still cysts.
My problem was never going to be solved with Clomid, so it's little wonder it didn't work. But it wasn't that bad being on it.
Best of luck, and I hope someone with better knowledge jumps on in and helps you out.

Sorry to have to welcome you over here
The drugs affect everyone differently. Some people get no side effects, some get them physically, some emotionally....you'll just have to wait and see.
Hope it's not too much longer for you & good luck

i dont have PCOS but i have very very irregular periods(im currently 13 weeks in to a cycle)
which is partly why i didnt go in to that thread as it is a bit more PCOS related.
I am hopeful that this will work as our only problem has been getting the timing right before..

provera is the devils drug! well, it has been for some of us. the hormones swings can be pretty bad. normal PMS comes around the same time you get the natural drop in progesterone welcoming AF - given provera is high dose provera, it can be pretty full on when that hormone change happens. best to prepare your family that you could be a little "interesting" for a day or three. the increase in progesterone can make you a little grumpy too - so it can last the whole time you're on it and then for a day or three after
with the clomid - there are a number of side effects - the list in the box is pretty accurate - so mood swings, cramping (like AF), hot flushes, headaches, visual issues (i had floaties in my eyes like eye migraines) - there are some more serious ones too. not everyone will get all of them. some will get none. some people won't respond to clomid at all unfortunately (they may get side effects that show it's doing something, but not actually O - this happened to me on even 150mg)
are you being monitored for ovulation? there is a chance of overstimulation. given you don't have PCOS, starting on a dosage of 50mg is pretty high - so keep an eye on yourself - after O especially. ensure you keep up fluids, and if anything seems off, speak to the doctor. hopefully you'll be fairly closely monitored though to ensure that doesn't happen
good luck
