??? about Vitex
Just wondering how much I can expect to pay for Vitex and where do I get it from?
Can I expect my cycle to shorten even by a day or two? And also will I ovulate earlier then I normally have?
I have heard conflicting advise on it but my cycle is irregular and varies in length from 29-34days and I was hoping it might shorten my cycle even by a day or two.

I used it and loved it.. So not pricey at all.. maybe 20$ or so.. I cant say enough great things about it.
You can get it from a health food shop.

Ok I have just brought it and started it. It says not to take it when pregnant (not that I am) does anyone know when I should stop if I were to get pregnant? Do I take it up until I ovulate on the off chance I do get pregnant or can you take it until you get a BFP and then stop?

I am pretty sure that you can take it up until you get your BFP...but this advice is conflicting apparently.

Re: ??? about Vitex
Yes, there is conflicting information re: Vitex. I personally stopped taking it up until I O'd. I was using Blackmores, purchased from the local chemist.
When I was getting accupunture and I asked my TCM man what he thought and he suggested up until getting a bfp.
I stopped taking it when my LP became regular and greater than 11DPO as opposed to my cycle length. It seems for me my cycles have settled down, it's my O day that varies from time to time. If I O later in my cycle, my cycle length is increased.
Hope that makes sense and :goodluck:

i have a looooong cycle.. so i only ovulate every 56 days instead of 28!
A natropath told me vitex doesnt actually change the length of your cycle... it will just change how long u bleed, pretty much so everything is flushed out properly.
Now I am confused.... lol.
Great, dont tell me i stopped taking it when it could have been helping me this whole time! :o

Re: ??? about Vitex
Crazycat, everything I have read suggests vitex improves cycle lengths and particularly LP length.
I'm also interested in getting some maca powder. Tho, I haven't made my way to a health food store for it yet.
There is lots of information on the Australian website menstruation .com related to natural products to improve fertility.

My friend suggested it ages ago and said she fell pregnant using it first cycle twice. She also said it took her from a 26day cycle to 22days (how she knew this when she got pregnant I dont know. Mine vary from 29-34days and I was hoping it would regulate them but didn't know when to stop taking it and how many tablets 1 or 2. It suggests 1-2.
Also the gyno said he would prescribe me clomid as he thought egg quality drops off if you ovulate late which I do although my LP is always 14days long so no problems there. Its the length of my follical stage which increases from cycle to cycle but LP is always the same. He then decided not to prescribe the clomid as he didn't think it would help seeing as I ovulate each month and my LP is good. But I was hoping the vitex would decrease my follical stage even by a day or two.

I took it and it changed my cycle from 39 days to 32... so it does change it... well did for me!
