Obsessed with the big "P"

... as in penis.

DS has been day trained for nearly 2 weeks now (and nearly night trained too) basically all on his own accord.

However - he is now obsessed with penis's!!! He gave me a picture today that he had drawn of a monkey - with a huge penis.. (pics on facebook haha)

Thought it was a once off, but then he also added a big penis to a koala and a sheep that we had drawn earlier (well I had drawn them and he stuck cotton wool balls on them for their fur)

I'm scared he will go to daycare and start drawing a big penis on every bloody animal!! They might think he is being abused or something!!!!

Please tell me this is normal and I'm not going to be interviewed by someone about how I treat my son!??

I don't really know anything about this, but I am pretty sure this is quite common in little boys. I'm sure there is some Freudian explanation lol, but I hope you get some answers as to what to expect.

I think he is just more aware of them IYKWIM. Aren't all boys obsessed?

I think it's pretty normal. DS walked around for weeks holding onto his penis when he first toilet trained.

I remember when DD2 was in kinder the kids were asked to draw a picture of their family. All the pictures were hung up on the wall for everyone to see, amongst all the paintings was 1 family which all had huge penises drawn on them :rofl: So your son isn't the only one.

Obviously he loves his and thinks everyone should have one! Nothing overt or wrong with that!

If anyone asks about it (like in authority or anything) just tell them to have a look at any ancient civilisations artwork (including the Australian Aborigines) and how huge the penises are on their paintings... it's completely natural!

I've never met him, but I'm so proud of him for being so liberated! :cheer: and I love that he doesn't even know that he is. Well done you for making him so open-minded!

Oh mel...thats so funny! I dont have any boys but I know Olivia has been obsessed with her vagina a lot more since being tt. More access to it maybe? Although she hasnt drawn any vaginas yet!!!
