Hi - I'm just wondering what you would do in this situation.
I'm married (2.5yrs) to a great man who has found himself in a bit of a niche career. We are in Canada at the moment - he working, me studying - and returning to his old Aus job in July.
I gave up my allied health career 8 years ago and worked in not-for-profit health/disability care for 6 years after. I've had 2.5 years off working as I complete an unrelated post-grad degree. Now, if I want to return to my career, I have to do a pretty intense 're-entry program' - would probably take 6mths, and I can't start until July.
Financially, we only need my professional salary if we were going to buy a home, which we were looking at doing in the next 18mths. But also, I think I would like to keep working (e.g. after babies).
I'm not getting any younger, and I feel really ready to start ttc now! But if I do, this may jeopardise the re-entry process. Should I wait another couple of months before ttc so that I have more opportunity to get myself ready to work in my profession after babies? Or should I take a risk?
Love to know your thoughts
