Baby Slings
Not sure if this is the right area for posting...
But did anyone see the news special on baby slings? I didn't see it and I'm not sure what program it was on, however....boy have I been getting comments on it ever since.
I think it must have aired on Sunday, since then I've had 3 strangers comment to me, whilst wearing the sling, how dangerous it is for my baby ??? DP has also had one lady approach him on the street and tell him off for it??
Before this I'd only ever had strangers remark on how wonderful they thought the sling was, and how it was such a nice way to carry your baby, etc, etc.
I don't see any danger in using my sling, Austin LOVES it and so do I. He has lots of room to move around in the sling, it's very secure and I always support his head when he's sitting up.
I'd be really interested to see what this report said about slings, if anyone knows what program it was aired on?

The dangers are with bag slings, the makers of which should be drawn and quatered IMHO.

As long as your sling is of a safe type you can just let people know, say that the slings that are dangerous are of a specific type, different to what you use, and you've done your research and always take appropriate care when using it anyway.

Yummy mummy baby slings 'may kill' | Mail Online.
something i have noticed over here is the way the news well over dramatize everything x

I've made a point of demonstrating to everyone that's approached me, how I use it and how safe it is. With the exception of the lady that approached DP everyone's seemed to understand why we use it.
Big thanks to Kitt3n who sent me a great link to a safe babywearing sight! Printing out the info for DP...lol he needs printed instructions sometimes ;)

I have moved this to the babywearing subforum. As there are already several threads on this topic I have closed this thread, but please feel free to contribute to one of the other threads here & here.
Thanks!
