I am having a really bad run with stains on DD's clothes. Things she has only worn once are being ruined by stains all down the front.
I have tried soaking, sard wonder spray, Borax (which is usually my saviour), hot and cold water and no luck. I have no idea what they are, but about 4 tops are now ruined.
Tell me your stain removing tips! A favourite product???
A while ago there was a product from preen (i think), I can't remember what it was called but it was a liquid that had two different chambers in the bottle. When you poured it over the garment that two liquids mixed (sorry confusing I know). It was a pink bottle.
Anyways, It was a SAVIOR for me. I'm the kind of person who should wear a bib when eating!

I always used the sard wonder stick, i guess it wouldn't be that much different to the spray? Are you spraying the sard on it as soon as the clothes get dirty? And napisan! The pink bottle. It gets EVERYTHING out.
I just make sure they get a bit of nice bright sun. That almost always works for me. :D
Oh same here!! How is it that no nappies have stains but all her singlets do???? No idea!! Let me know when you find a solution!
I love the Sard Wonder Stick - gets EVERYTHING out!! As long as you rub it on soon after the clothing has been soiled it works a treat. And I think you can leave it on for a few days if you can't get to the washing right away.
Vanish preen direct 7 day stain remover works a charm, whenever the boys spill, vomit, whatever when I change the shirt/shorts the stain s get treated and when they are washed the stain is gone
only thing becareful to not put the wet clothes (from the stain remover) straight in basket while wet it can sometimes bleach other clothes...
Anyone found anything that works successfully on banana - I now feed DD banana rather than letting her feed herself because have ruined too many things. I have tried SARD, tea tree oil (recommendation via google) various washing powders and the sun - but still looks like mould in the clothes.
I have a similar issue. DS has a profound hatred of bibs and he feeds himself so food goes everywhere. Some his nicest clothes are so badly stained. I'm thinking about soaking them in napisan or something, but sounds like people have tried that with no luck so I'm at a bit of a loss now. I was thinking about bi-carb - anyone tried that?

The best thing.. after 2 kiddies.. and i have not had to throw out any stained things..
is SARD SPRAY!! in Eucalyptus... ITS BRILLIANT>. even the plain one..

I spray on the stain.. then fill up the machine with other like color clothes and laundry detergent.. then throw in the stained item that has been sitting there for 1 min.. and VOILA!!

We use Napisan Baby Care on DD's stained clothes like her singlets and it works every time!! And even if the stain has been there a few days (and already been washed iykwim?) it works a treat!! I soak it for longer than they recommend. I usually forget about it that's why LOL!!
I think I'll have to give that a go Shanti - most of my stained things have already been through the wash so a good soaking is required. Thanks!
We always use the preen spray - get the one that's *not* the oxygen bleach one - followed by a soak in a bucket in either regular laundry powder or an enzyme-based nappy soaker. Key word enzyme here, it seems to break the foody stains down better than anything else. HTH
I needed something for my lounge suite (cream colour fabric) and my eye spotted a $3.50 bottle of 'stain magic' while i was in the reject shop. I thought, i'll give it a try because the directions sounded really easy. I wasnt really expecting it to the job, but also wasnt looking forward to spending a hundred or more dollars on having the lounges professionally cleaned.:
I've gotta say that this stuff is amazing.
It took off a pink texta mark, blotches of old stains from grease, general grubby hand marks and completely removed my cats spray stain.
It was a good investment and now i dont need to have the lounges professionally cleaned. I havnt used it on clothing yet but the instructions say its safe on pretty much anything including material.
The method is really easy too. Simply spray on till you get a foamy patch on the stain, then gently dab the stain with a damp cloth in an inward motion until the stain is gone.
