Just started using blankets/bedding... is there a safety risk?? What can I do?
Strange question, but Jazz is almost 20 months and has JUST started using bedding in the last few days. She used to hate having anything on her but something changed.
She also got a big girl bed (single bed) yesterday and is now on that which she absolutely adores and loves to sit in it and put the blankets up to her waist and play in bed, so CUTE!!!
Anyway, I'm feeling nervous about the possible risk of suffocation or being tangled in the blanket (ok its more like a light doona). I know the 'safe sleeping' stuff for babies, down the bottom of the cot etc but that seems impossible for a single bed. I thought maybe tucking it in but I don't want to create a suffocation trap. But then I'm worried she'll get wrapped in the blankets if I don't tuck them in (she moves around a lot in her sleep).
I think I am so worried because she moves so much. She really likes the bigger donna that covers her whole bed, and I'm not sure how she'll go hopping in to bed with a smaller blanket, although thats she 'safer' option in my head...
Any ideas or advice? Am I being silly? Feel free to tell me if I am  I don't know, she's always just prefered to have layered clothes than bedding, she even hated beng wrapped at only a few hours old, so I've never had to worry about her being tangled or covered in bedding before!
