Conception after mirena iud removal

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone of late has had an IUD removed and has fallen pregnant soon after.
My husbands and I are TTC his 1st and my 5th. (I know Im crazy to go for more ;)
We have been trying since December last yr.
In 2006 I had the merina implanted and had it removed in about September 2009.
Im still a young and healthy 28 yr old and my husband is 31. We have a fairly healthy bedroom dance regime (lol) but nothing is happening.
I have had clockwork cycles since removal, have a healthy diet and do regular exercise.
With my last 5 pregnancies, (4 viable and 1 miscarriage in 2003) all its taken is a glimps of "MR MUSCLE" and bam im pregnant. This time around though it hasnt been so easy. Month after month AF arrives and is devastating.
I have spent many hours reading forums and loads of women are really struggling to concieve, however a lot of this information is a couple of years old.
On the mirena website it says you can concieve straight away after your first cycle. I have also read however that after the removal the uterus walls are thinner so implantation becomes rather difficult. However I have had it out for 6 going on 7 months now so I would have thought that would be ample time for my playground to return to optimal conception conditions.
We desperately want one of our own, and everyone seems to be getting BFP all around us except us.
Any info, help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

No idea hun, my commiserations, I'm in the same boat ... got mine out almost a year ago now though.

Im so sorry. We both know what it feels like to get completely wrapped up in everything we feel and automatically assume it must be a positive pregnancy this month!
Im beginning to wonder if the IUD was such a smart move. :(
Well I do hope you get your BFP really soon. 12 months is a long time to face disappointment each month!!

I too have an IUD and am planing to get it romoved in August i really hope i can conceive fairly early after taking it out. my doctor told me aswell that u can conceive straight away after havent it removed. no doctors i have been to have said its hard to conceive after having it but u guess in general it just takes ur body time to adjust.
maybe go to a doctor and they can give u a test to check everything out

I have had mine out for approx 8 - 9 months now and still no luck with conception.
From what I have been told after the removal of the IUD many woman will struggle to concieve as the uterus wall is thin and not viable for the fertilised egg to implant.
But as to any story there are 2 sides to every coin. Although I have been unsuccessful so far, you may fall easy as.
All I can say is just keep this info in the back of your mind, so if you dont concieve straight away you have something to put it down to.

So does anyone have any idea what we need to do to thicken the uterus wall?? I'm im the same boat as you girls.

From all the research Ive done it seem some form of progesterone is the way to go. Whether that be in the form of a cream or gel, or suppository (?!?! EEK) or oral tablet.
I myself have not tried any of these forms but i guess it wouldnt hurt to see a gyno or doc about it.
See they all say you should have no trouble concieving afterwards but yet why are there so many women who are?? Maybe they need to look at what the merina does to the walls and do trials to see how long it takes for the uterus to get back to "normal". I think it would save a lot of heartache month after month!!
