Truman Syndrome

Hi well after a couple of years of trying to fall pregnant and to discover that dh had Klinefelter Syndrome which causes infertility in males we have changed clinics and they have run tests on me only to discover that i have Turner Syndrome which is why my body has been responding poorly to the stim drugs they have given me before.

We are about to start another cycle using donor sperm and just when we started to get excited i find this out and i now have to find out more about my syndrome as it it causes infertility and also the risk of miscarriage is very high and having a child with down syndrome or Turner syndrome.

Cannot believe how 2 people could have such bad luck on their quest to have a little family.

Is there anyone out there with this syndrome who has a similar story or any advice or information would be great!

Blossom, you're right in regard to it being very bad luck that you both have a sex chromosome related abnormality affecting fertility.

I don't think you'll find anyone on this forum who has much knowledge of Turner Syndrome as it isn't that common. I think your best bet is to continue to consult with your fertility specialist, perhaps also in liaison with a geneticist.

For background, and you may already know all of this, Turner Syndrome involves the deletion or partial deletion of one of your two sex chromosomes, which form part of the 23 pairs of chromosomes you possess. Klinefelter's ironically is the addition of an extra sex chromosome, which also confuses the body's fertility abilities.
