All she wants is the nipple to sleep with

My little one loves the boob which is great but at night she wants it to comfort her, she just uses it as a dummy which is ok for a while untill i start to hurt and have to stop, when i stop she cries and screams yet while she was suckling she was almost or asleep

We didnt want to use a dummy but she really likes to suck and it soothes her and helps her to sleep, so we got a few different types and she wont take an of them,she gags or takes them then realises they are not the boob and spits it out and cries again

I want to soothe her and help her to sleep but she only wants the nipple , last night she screamed for hours and kept trying to get to it .

any suggestions on anything we can do to help out our little one to get a peiceful nights rest

we hold her, sing to her let her sleep on my chest rock her do everythin but we cant help her with her sucking need ,any help would be great

Peppar is the same Shell, wont have a bar of the dummy :wall: and like you I have about five different styles all going to waste!

I find when I no she is fed and fine but wanting to suckle I give her my (cleaned) little finger. Fingernail down on her tongue so I dont accidently scratch the roof of her mouth, usually after five minutes nods off and I can put her down.
I dont know why she takes this and not a dummy but she does and it works so it may work for you too.

Sounds like your little bubba has taken very well to the breast which is great, but like you said i can imagine after a while your nipple would become very sore.

Have you tried getting your DH to settle bubby , maybe she is wanting the breast because she can smell it when your cuddling her.... sorry not sure if that will help at all but it could be worth a go.

In the mean time your doing a wonderful job and your little girl is just gorgeous :)

DD1 took to a dummy around about the 3month mark and was the same, gagging etc before that. she still preferred to be attached to my nipple over night though.
