How does DH feed DD to sleep?!?

DD is 20 months old. She still feeds about four times a day. in the morning, before nap time, in the arvo and then at bed time. I feed her to sleep 100% of the time.
I just go offered a few shifts to help a friend out at her business, starting tomorrow. So DH is going to have to put DD to sleep in the arvo. No one else has ever put her to sleep.
I tried to express some, but my milk has been getting less and less recently and i honestly dont think i can express more than an egg cup full!!! not going to be much use to feed her to sleep....
Should i give her cows milk, shes had is on cereal etc but never a big glass of it, or toddler formular. How much. Shes never taken a bottle. mmmmm, panicing a little...can you tell :redface:

Hopefully if she has a big meal and a sippy cup of milk and a big play (maybe go to the park) she might drift off with your DH. And perhaps if he sits with her in front of the tv she may drift off that way too. That's all I've got!

do you have a sleep routine or sleep association items? until recently DD was 100% bf to sleep - but we knew we needed to change that so we used sleep association items and would then get DH to get her to sleep. he now does the night time bed preparation (bum change, jim jams, sleeping bag etc), i feed her, then either one of us will cuddle her to sleep. she knows she only goes in the sleeping bag for naps, she knows dummy means nap time etc. hopefully you'll have some sleep association things that will trigger for her that it's nap time. she may struggle a little with the notion to start with, but i was surprised by my DD. the first nap she had for daddy, she was tired and just went to sleep for him - i was upstairs helping a friend do something, came back and she was out cold. sometimes i think mummy not being there makes settling for daddy easier....

i would go with cows milk in a sippy cup if she needs a drink. it can be warmed a little as a comfort thing if she needs it - you may find she is happy to just snuggle daddy and sleep without the milk feed if you're not there though. i wouldn't give her formula at this point - it would be an unfamliar taste and totally unnecessary when you're only missing one feed. just be prepared taht she might be a bit of a booby monster when you get home to make up for it!

ETA - i wouldn't NOT feed her when you get home just because it's not a normal feed time - you said you're a little worried about your milk levels - you need to get that stimulation to keep producing.

BG, thats great to hear how easy it was for you guys...i think your right, when im not around i think she will be fine! We have a really strong sleep routine, every time its exactly the same, down to the tiniest detail, if i dont close the door at the right time or say the right thing she pulls me up on it LOL. so il just have to teach DP the routine!! :)

Il def give her a feed as soon as i can after i miss one....shes happy to have a feed any time of the day so it wont matter to her :) thanks again!

Dh manages to get dd to sleep in amazing ways, including on his lap while watching tv, on his lap while eating lunch, And even on the floor while playing! I am constantly shocked! I also feed to sleep 100% of the time.

I have to agree with the previous posters... DP has always been able to get DS to sleep since about 11 mnths old when I am not around :dunno:
