Please help me out. My son just turned 5 months and has started shaking his head vigorously from side to side.
My husband and I are getting very worried, we were hoping it isnt a medical problem or brain condition.
Has anyone else experienced this at all???
JB started this about 6 months and still does it, he thinks its hilarious.
Is it normal? Im really stressing, Im so worried he may have a mental disorder or something? It looks like its giving him a headache...He shakes it really quickly, and wont stop til I hold my hands up to the side of his face.

My friends little girl does it and she's nearly 3. She does it as a self soothing thingy when she's tired;)

Just wanted to let you know that it is indeed normal and DS2 eventually stopped doing it :)
My almost 8mo started this a few weeks ago. I wouldn't say he 'vigorously' shakes his head, but he does do it.
Yep, my William does it too :) He does it, especially when he's tired - its actually his biggest sign of tiredness!

I think it is common enough BUT if your mummy instinct is telling you something is wrong, it can't hurt to go to the doctor.
