PLEASE do yourself and your school aged children a favour and read this amazing book!
The miraculous Journey of Edward Tullane
by Kate DiCamillo
.
One of the best books that I have ever read to children (and I am a teacher so I have read a lot)!
It follows the life of a China Rabbit. The language and vocabulary is amazing! The themes just incredible. During his travels he learns the value of love and loss and the undeniable message that loving and losing is better than never having loved at all.
I would recommend that as an adult you read it first but let me tell you, the children in my year 2 class have all said it was the best book ever! We read a chapter each day over the last few weeks. We have had parents come up to us and say what is this book the children are reading as they have been asking to go to the local library to borrow it or book shops to buy it so they could read ahead! LOL! We only have two chapters to go before the last day of term and because the teacher I am job sharing with is working tomorrow and not me, I stayed after school so I could read the end to myslef and I cried! LOL! Such a dag!
I sound like a sales person but honestly good literature should be shared.
Would love to hear what others think of it if they have read it bu no spoilers as I want others to read it! ;)
